thanks for the dark knight pictures. i love this movie, but it's not looking like a crystal clear transfer like baraka seems to be. the backdrops in the dark knight are bad. damn! i guess i should expect the worst when i see watch the dark knight.

Dark Knight PQ is fine the way it is. People who constantly complain about it should seriously get their eyes checked or their systems replaced.

it's fine, but the IMAX shots look so clean that unless the black bar scenes
looked like Baraka or Incredible Hulk they were gonna be underwhelming..

I rented Planet Terror from Blockbuster, today, and just realized it wasn't supposed to be on the shelf, yet.

I'll try to do up some screens from it, this evening.

not from the pictures posted. the pictute quality in those pictures posted don't look like it's fine the way it is. and i don't need my eyes checked or any system replaced. i want to believe has amazing clarity and picture quality and it wasn't even shot on imax. i will make a final decision when i see the dark knight, but so far what's been posted isn't giving me a lot of hope.

I would judge it for yourself you really cant tell from screenshots how good the picture is until its on your own system, I wasnt overally impressed from pictures posted but when watched it on my setup was very impressed.

You have to keep in mind that it is especially hard to get a straight on clean shot of a dark movie in a dark room with no flash. The noise comes from the camera, the lack of crispness comes from a shaky hand combined with the slow shutter speed required to match the illumination of the XBR4.

Dark Knight is a beautiful movie in quality and composition. Comparing anything to Baraka isn't remotely fair. If the criminals in their clown masks stood still for 90 seconds and stared into the IMAX camera we might be able to make that comparison. As it is, the camera is constantly moving which makes a solid screen shot difficult.

it's not in the crispness of the picture or how it was taken i don't think. it's in the background. the backgrounds just don't look extremely clear. it's as though some work's been done on them. other pictures don't have that, which is why i don't think it's how the picture was taken.

the people stirring up s--t regarding TDK's picture quality are those at AVS with nothing better to do with their lives. there are plenty of spectacular screenshots taken by others. you can find them in Blu-ray.com's own BLU review.

you cant judge PQ by pictures taken by amateurs. i find it hilarious that i'm even trying to debate this with somebody who hasnt seen TDK blu ray and who doesnt own the movie. video in motion is different from motion in still shots. rent it and watch it before you spew nonsense based on biased amatuers online

calm down and take deep breaths. i'm not stirring sh**. i'm just commenting on what i saw. i can't rent the dark knight thank you. my player at the moment will not play well so it does me no good. waiting on my other one to come in the mail. and i'm not spewing nonsense. i can see clearly with my eyes what i am seeing. i don't see it in any of the other "amateur" photos posted from other movies so i don't think it's that. you love the picture quality of the dark knight. that is great and i'm not taking that away from you. i'm just noting what i'm seeing. i hope that i am wrong because i love the dark knight and hope it got a nice transfer. from what i'm seeing it doesn't look like it, but i haven't passed final judgment on it. i'll do that when i see the movie for myself.

I realize you're trying to come to a resolve, but can the Dark Knight PQ discussion be moved to the Dark Knight Mega Thread, possibly?
