THE QUICK LINKS INDEX
Indexing Guidelines: Some posts here are very good and link to some truly excellent screenshots. However, there is an issue with indexing them here. One of the guidelines is that we don't link to "outside links" only. If your photos are at least 600 pixels wide and are then linked to larger sizes elsewhere, that great. It's important that the initial link goes to photos that appear in-site which are 600 pixels or more in width. Sorry for the confusion on that. That is mainly done to conserve my sanity in managing the links and photos. It's also disconcerting to patrons to click on a link only to be directed to other links they have to click on. It should be a direct link to the images. The other thing that causes me to skip posts for indexing is when I can't readily find the method used and the display device used. I can't "guess" if the screenshots are computer image captures or taken with a camera. If they are photos, I can't guess what display was used. I don't have time to search or contact people to provide such information. That's why it's very important to include that information in every series posted. Also, there's no way to index posts which includes screenshots from more than one movie. There needs to be separate posts for each movie. Also, I have to make a subjective decision if the screenshots are high enough quality for indexing. I don't wish to offend anyone by not linking their screenshots, but the images should represent fairly well and accurately what's on the display. A great example of excellent format is CINEMA SQUID (Example) who posts here a lot. His initial posts provide smaller images that are at least 600 pixels wide, but are linked to larger images elsewhere. Also Cinema Squid provides the method and even the number of images in the series which is necessary to index them correctly. All posts, however, are welcome here even if they can't be indexed. I think it's fine to post links to outside sites to view, but I just can't index those. Thanks for your understanding. The guidelines for having them indexed are listed on the first page: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=41422 Last edited by ricwhite; 03-28-2009 at 10:48 PM. |

May I ask what made you knock the video score down to 4.5? Just wondering as I didn't notice a single fault with the film's video transfer?

I prefer a less saturated image, so the "washed out" look is actually the way the projector is calibrated. Just a personal preference. The images are about 90% accurate. The actual image on screen is better. The camera kills shadow detail and the exposure is not perfect. Also, the colors are just a little off. All of that is camera related; however, the images are fairly close to what I'm seeing on my screen. Last edited by ricwhite; 03-29-2009 at 10:21 PM. |

I'm not sure what the moderator's rules are for content. No movie to my knowledge has ever been deleted by moderators in this thread. I would seriously doubt that posts would be deleted for gore or violence, but I think any open nudity would. So, as long as there's no genitalia showing, I think just about anything goes. I DO like the idea, however, of warning viewers of "intense" content or spoiler information so they are forewarned ahead of time.
