Can anyone recommend a good image hosting website? Preferably one that offers a lot of space. Going to start posting here again.

Thanks.

Anyone with Resident Evil Degeneration, would it be possible to get a 1080p shot of the following screen? Even 720p would be cool. Hopefully I'll get my own bd player for my pc soon enough...

If you have a registered account, it's much higher. I've gone as high as 3.5 MB...I'm just not sure if it depends. I've been with IS for years now, so I don't know if that's a reason.

Cut it down to just the first screenshot, but I have to say, these are all highly inaccurate representations of the actual transfer. There's noise reduction, edge enhancement, and overblown contrast all over these caps that isn't coming from the disc itself, but from the screenshot process. These are the kinds of inaccurate screenshots that can potentially damage the sales of even a great Blu-ray release.

Yeah, I'm aware. A coupl of movies caps I took I done so after installing a new ATI graphic card last year and the Catalyst Control Center settings were all over the place. I might replace them, but then again I may not bother. I have better things to do.

How are you capturing your screens exactly?

I may be an idiot, but how would the graphics card effect capturing data from the source file? It seems pointless for screens if that is the case because then none are really showing quality.

The drivers for the graphic cards have all sorts of video settings (sharpness, noise reduction, etc). Many of these are preset by default. Depending what software you use to grab screenshots, these video settings are already in place in the end result. So, to make the best screenshots, make sure the video is completely unmanipulated and the screen is grabbed in its exact & full 1080p resolution.

I've been getting better results since switching from MPC to VLC Player last year. I disabled my card's video settings some months back and have left VLC Player at default settings too. From there I just grab the PNG shots, make a backup of them, resize and convert said backups to jpg and post them here (the original untouched PNG files are also posted via a link instead of slowing the board down by posting the actual pics) and that's it. I'm certainly not a videophile so that is the best you are going to get from me.

I asked a couple of members on the avsforum how they went about taking their shots and some of them go as far as taking hundreds and hundreds of pics and using multiple image editing programs to get the closest possible result to the BR disc. I simply don't have time nor the understanding for that. Its just a small side hobby of mine at the end of the day and I'm not going to make an issue out of it. If you enjoy the shots I take, great, if not, as I said, its the best you are going to get from me

Thanks, md99. Even if the screens you post may not always be truly indicative of the BD, I always appreciate the time and work that you (and others) put into posting screens, and I know many others do as well!

Thanks. As I said, since switching to VLC I think my shots are closer to what you see on review sites and I'm happy with that:

blu-ray.com grab - https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/scree...13&position=11

my grab - http://www.somniumxxx.biz/br_screenc...l/large/02.png

I might redo those Se7en shots over the weekend and see how they look with my card turned off and taken with VLC Player. I'm also pretty (very) unhappy with the quality of the shots I've posted from The Pianist. They look as if de-noising was turned up to the max on either Media Player Classic or my card.

Still having problems getting my shots right. Here's a comparison pic from this site and one I took. There's de-noising going on in mine despite my having every single video filter turned off on my graphic card. I'm at a loss and its beginning to really piss me off

These seem to be closer to the blu-ray.com shots so I guess I'm happy with that

Can somebody please make some high quality screenshots of The Lord of the Rings for me? I would mostly prefer shots of Legolas and Gimli.

Shots like these: http://www.doblu.com/wp-content/uplo...trrotk2334.jpg

I'm begging!
