Default Star Wars on Amazon, why?

Is there any particular reason why Amazon lists the Star Wars movies with a notification for when they will be released? They don't even know when they will be released. They are teasing us!

Amazon does this a lot. I did it for Star Wars on DVD. I'm not sure that I ever actually got the notification though cuz it was quite a few years later!

What bugs me is they have notification up for LotR HD DVD but not Blu-ray!

Yes it's accurate "Not yet available"

Their system automatically makes those when people search for things to collect potential customers

They are just creating specialized lists. It helps them market to you and I better.

They are a good case study in DB marketing.

It's from the old days when sites (including Amazon) used to put up requested non-titles to solicit customer-order "petitions" for the titles, and keep e-addresses on their database for future sales...
Used to be popular in the 90's, when studios needed a push to release titles; nowadays, it means zilch. NTSH, folks, move on.
