Actually AV, you have to consider the fact that this is a truly international forum and I was thinking that English might not be Opips’s first language.

So, on that cloudy note, a cutting edge treatment option videophiles (or not) should be aware of is Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery (FLACS) and might want to further investigate to see if it’s available in your local community when the time comes to make a decision about your eyes, which should never be taken without some concerted, informed thought. This treatment option has been available in the L.A. area since 2011…. http://www.advancedvisioncare.com/ca...-press-release

Theatrical tip of the day (for those few who have access to Dolby Vision theaters showing DV graded content)……

For best image quality experience, strive to see the movie at show times when the auditorium is almost empty. Why (other than potentially dealing with rude patrons)…might that be?. Well, you see, much of the difficulty with theatrical Dolby Vision lies in controlling stray light and reflections to achieve true deep blacks. Multiple viewers’ faces and clothing bounce back light….which is not good. An elephant video to illustrate the point –

Note to CineTechGeek ^ , this HDR theatrical hurdle concept actually has been spoken about at previous advanced professional conferences/trade show, but I do like your cardboard demonstration as it facilitates understanding of the ‘crux’ of the matter.

Myself and friends have joked about this issue many times even for home theaters, but honestly I think it would take a very LARGE group of people wearing VERY reflective clothing to make even a dent compared to the amount of light already being bounced onto the screen from floor lighting and exit signs. What I'd be interested in is a test where you measure the actual contrast capability of the room with no projector on and no one in the auditorium but the lighting that will be on during any movie. Then look at the contrast capabilities of the projector and see which one is the true limiting factor.

Everything is relative, for example -

Last night while I’m relaxing on the couch watching the latest episode of Fargo, our cat was rubbing her face affectionately in my hair for a couple minutes while she stood behind me on the back edge of our sectional. My wife comes into the room and says…”you do realize that she caught a mouse a few hours ago while hunting outside in the backyard and I noticed her ripping the rodent’s belly apart with her teeth and intestines spilling out all over the place…..how about cleaning that carcass up before Friday and double-bag it in the trash because you’ll remember we have guests coming over….and don’t come near me until you’ve taken a shower.”

So the moral of the story is...I should look out for mice guts when out on the back porch?

No moral, maybe other than things could always be worse, it’s just that your phrase ‘rotting something chronic” acutely triggered something personal in my mind that I was compelled to share, not to mention that fellow recoverers from orthopedic surgery could logically deduce from my post that I’m now out of the shoulder sling.

P.S.
For those other readers who were unaware of the role Cinram played in the replication biz, here’s a reporter spiel to catch up with the history of it all….http://mesalliance.org/blog/me-daily...sc-operations/
