If it's based on a true 4K scan, then there was no point in using the same Artificial unIntelligence upscaling used for Avatar, which was 2K at source. Not that there was point for that either

And...what? We noticed grain and the ProRes version looks good for 1080.

We didn't say you were lying, just that most people who went there thought it looked good or didn't notice the DNR.

The Prores version gives me hope. Also YT compression is shit and you can't trust what you see in terms of quality.

ProRes trailer looks good, thanks for the upload.

Looks like the grain was dialed about as far back as you can go without becoming in-your-face waxy. Proof is in the pudding though!

While the framing on the theatrical shots basically match the framing on the previous HD master, the special edition shots have a good bit of reframing:

ProRes trailer looks better than expected. But I guess FX shots will be the most problematic, kinda like it was with Jurassic Park or Fellowship Of The Ring.

Not loving the artwork on these Cameron releases. Also kinda bummed no steel books, but with Best Buy out by then, maybe that's why. Still, if the picture isn't DNR'd to death I am more excited for these than I have been for any release in some time. Can't believe he skipped blu-ray and is coming it at "the end" of physical media. Been waiting so long for these...
