Knew it.

With only one region releasing one of the most anticipated titles on disc of all time there was bound to be low stocks as people from all over the world will be trying to order.

Enquiring from Australia where Disney doesn't distribute home media anymore.
Region free, as confirmed by thedigitalbits.com

I went to 4 different Walmarts this morning that are on my way to work. Got there early and there was nothing. None of the stores looked like they had restocked anything/put anything new out since yesterday when I stopped and checked.

BUT I did get the last copy of Creepshow 4K Steelbook in the area/online so it wasn't a total bust.

Yep. They never have their stuff out on release day. Have to always ask... then they have no clue what your talking about and at the point your just ready to leave ... I doubt I'll be making the trip in unless someone on here says they saw them in store.

That means I'm near the bottom of Amazon’s list of buyers now. :/

It is 5am here on the west coast I have to go to Walmart when it opens at 7 this morning. I will check if they have any of the new 3 Cameron joints. I already have the movies in high def so I have no reason to buy them.

*I just checked the local Walmart and they don't sell ANY new blus or 4k UHD. That is depressing. Jesus.

Whatcha talkin' bout Willis?

I don't get it, though. We have been waiting years for a HD release and now one is coming and people want it day 1, even though there's hundreds of pages of people complaining about something that they don't like about the release.

It's a 35 year old movie. It will be available in 1 month, 1 year and who knows when.
I get the term FOMO now, but it doesn't apply to this title

In the UK too, I ordered mine from WOWHD back in January. No movement so far but at least my card was not declined. I thought WOWHD took payment immediately when pre-ordering anyway.

None at my store or any others in the area. I'd imagine we're in a similar situation to what Shane described above re: Target. Any copies meant for instore sales have likely been rerouted to the website & used to fulfill preorders. So frustrating.

Somewhere there's a pressing plant getting insanely busy rushing out copies of an old movie deemed a financial failure on initial release. Being a fan since I saw it back in 1986, I've got a nice warm feeling.

But my copy probably doesn't even exist yet, curses!

Update on my order from Target - last night the web site showed that it was Aliens that shipped. This morning, the same web site now shows it was True Lies and The Abyss that shipped and Aliens will be here Monday.

WOWHD pre-approves the payment when you place the order. It'll show as pending for a while on your bank account but isn't completed.

There is always resolution or colour grading or contrast issues, nevermind vagaries of whatever CRT or panel a film is being watched on, or personal settings of such or calibration thereof. It's a thorny debate. My 4K of Blade Runner probably looks very different to how it looked back in 1982 in my town's fleapit cinema of the time. I'm ok with that and as long as The Abyss looks better than my old non-anamorphic DVD then I'll be happy. It may not be everyone's idea of perfect, but it's on disc, in 4K, so I'm pretty ecstatic, frankly.
That’s pretty much where I’m at. Abyss is the only one I’m buying because there hasn’t been a decent way to watch it since I went to projection. And I never thought of the Abyss as overly grainy anyway.

With Amazon now listing The Abyss as out of stock, I'm thinking it shouldn't be too long for my pre-order to ship with the obvious backlog of orders, right?
I don't expect it this week, which has me shaking my head and laughing a bit about this final delay.
