There was a similar issue during the filming of The Andromeda Strain where a

[Show spoiler]monkey dies from the pathogen. I believe they "killed" the money by having him in a room with CO2 with a person standing by to revive the monkey with oxygen immediately after if passed out.

I don't know if this scene was altered in any way for UK cuts.

I haven't found any information regarding BBFC cuts regarding "TAS".
I hereby conclude the film is Uncut in today's standards.

Found several versions available, German, Spanish, Norwegian and others, but none have English subtitles listed, on the boxes.

Are all of the versions 4k discs going to have them?, as I’m partially deaf, so really need to find out.

There are English SDH subtitles on every edition.

Thanks, it’s a bit puzzling as each release has English language, but all have different combinations of subtitles for the 4k releases.

Yeah, Disney usually has a separate disc for US & Canada.

The European disc adds German and Italian dubs but as they are HR and lossy there’s no logical reason to not include on the North American disc. Also, the European language subtitles only use a trivial amount of disc space.

These days you would expect it to be cheaper to have a single North American and European disc as the likes of Sony do for their UHDs when they have rights in both regions.

It’s titles they only have rights in North America such as Leon (The Professional), Nikita or Cliffhanger and where Studio Canal own in Europe that they each do their own discs.

Disnee have done the multiple disc thing for a while. Somehow it must've worked out cheaper, especially when they were refusing to use 100GB discs. But I'm glad they kept it going when they were forced to use 100GB discs for the Cameroon releases, there's a lot of stuff on several of those platters (branching versions, DV layers, music tracks, multiple English audio options) and shoving on loads of foreign audio tracks to make a Fitz Hall disc would've nibbled yet further at the video bitrate.

I have the Spanish release and it's got English subs. The menu labels it "English for the hearing impaired" - I had a quick check and in some scenes it will describe sounds eg [Pinging.], [Snoring.], [Static, Pinging Continues ], [Pully Chain Clanking Slowly].
