Default New copy of the 4K Blu-ray

I was able to find a new copy of the 4K Blu-ray of the Abyss at barnesandnoble.com. It's the first time I've seen it in years. It was pretty amazing.

I just ordered the French 2 disc blu version of this for £20 new sealed with slip off eBay. I was due to see a 35mm print of the SE at the cinema a month ago but two months ago the manager emailed to say that they’ve had to cancel the screening due to ‘the studio putting a moratorium on the title.’ I read through the pages of this thread since the disc started shipping out to people (around pg 251 iirc) to see if there was any comment on the quality of the BD (there was one that was more of a question early on) so in the absence of anything more I’m assuming the BD is still decent. May still hold off for the opportunity to watch on film in the cinema first (the manager said they hope to get it back on ‘when the hold on the film lifts’) as never seen it (original was before my time, SE will have released when I was 3) but liking the JC I have seen I am hoping to like it

Wow hd had some in stock earlier, but they went quickly,
may well mean more are on their way elsewhere.

It will come in, it’s only a new release that keeps selling out,
it’s just a question of time.

I wouldn't lose hope yet.

There was nothing to suggest it was a limited release. I think the demand for it is just still way, way more than the handful of plants left worldwide can handle, on top of all the normal new releases they're pressing.

I think the lack of a UK release isn't helping, as a lot of people here are importing it.

Yep, and I was one of them. Thank goodness for region-free 4K.

iMusic has copies of the Nordic-version still. No forced subtitles.

I played the waiting game, and the Spanish edition quickly became the cheapest of them all. I was about a 3rd cheaper than everywhere else.

Not being anal about losing "The" from the title saved a chunk of money...

Reminds me of Warner and Devil's Advocate instead of The Devil's Advocate.

Better options around than the US release though, namely any of the Euro releases if solely for the fact the discs are not stacked lol

The theatrical version is now streaming uncut (with the rat scene intact) on U.K. Disney+.

Which may mean that there's new hope for a U.K. UHD release if anyone's still bothered at this point.

Yeah was browsing it today and also saw that. How the hell is Disney able to bypass the the censorship by showing that then? This doesn't make sense at all.

Its annoying they never release directors cuts or extended versions on Disney+.

I have the German 4k so its not a big deal to me, but the DC is the way to go for this film. Still, at least people get to watch it in some form over here.

I just don't understand how Disney bypasses the BBFC when a physical version doesn't.
