Grown friend of mine was visibly uncomfortable with the quake scenes in San Andreas. Gave her nightmares.

Another friend of mine was upset after I told her the fact that Yellowstone is sitting on top of a supervolcano. She probably would have freaked out watching 2012.

You'd be surprised over some people's phobias and how movies affect them.

You don't say! I'm not a human though so I have no idea what any of that means but I'll take your word for it.

I'm just saying their PG-13 ratings were justified. They weren't R and they weren't PG or G.

Speaking of Twister, my dad took me to see it the month it opened. I was 5. It didn't particularly traumatize me, but it and some close calls with tornado situations (we lived in the midwest at the time!) probly contributed to weather anxiety I developed later. (which still persists to a degree! that's anxiety for you)

He took me to see Mars Attacks and that one managed to give me nightmares. The Lost World? Oh nah, I was so onboard with that one I saw it twice. Jurassic Park was my favorite thing at the time afterall. I saw that one when I was 4. My parents got me started young. Most of all I thank my mom for taking me to see Nightmare Before Christmas when I was what? 3 I think? It was the best thing I'd ever seen besides Jurassic Park. I carried around an Oogie Boogie plushie filled with plastic bugs.

Were not some of the underwater shots including the Humans close calls at times? if I'm not mistaken near drownings? but, apparently it's safe to show those scenes. I don't know, it's just an interesting aspect in the big picture.

Jedi Conan had some thoughts related to this...

ASK JEDI CONAN

PIT CHIEFTAIN
Jedi Conan! Is the MPAA friend or foe? Does it suit modern times and values?

JEDI CONAN
Fire. Vind. They come from it da sky. From da gods of it the sky. But da MPAA is your god. He lives in it the Hollyvood. The MPAA hold them many secrets but da greatest of all dese is it duh Secret of Ratings.

You must learn of it da Secret of Ratings. The amount of bad vords and it da blood and naked peeples you can show to protect da children.

For a time, tings ver good, but we half learned that protecting dem da children only made dem tremble in fear at small things when dey become older. Dey cry and veep at sight of mouse.

So we must storm it the Hollywood and steal back duh Secret of Ratings and force all them the children to see the splatter films wid du gore and da blood and bad vords.

No more G or PG or PG-13 moovies. Da children vill be chained to it da Wheel of Pain and valk in circles looking at it duh iPhones wid nothing on dem da phones but duh splatter movies.

Den dey vill be strong and vill be silent deadly killing machines and will walk on da bones of them that fall before dem. All vill tremble at the sight of these children for they vill fear nothing.

So to answer it your qvestion, yes. Change dem da ratings. Bring forth the silent deadly generation.

I am one with da Force and da Force is with me.

PIT CHIEFTAIN
Good.

Didn't miss much from the 1970s sequels. The reboot versions are superior in every way.

Okay but you prefer the Atmos mixes of the Burton/Schumacher Batflicks to the legacy ones, so I'll take this with a pinch of salt...
