no because it was shared on the official studio channel and if it was fathom events it'd have two nights of screenings

make sense.

I saw the special edition back in 1993. it played for 2 weeks across the country. they only had two prints. I saw it in Sacramento theatre. I also saw the original theatre version back in 1989.
know the price for this December 6 screenings?

I think the context was that if you've never seen the SE, you'll be seeing new shots.

That was my understanding as well. If there were any new surprises we'd have heard about them after the showing in LA.

I've got a bad feeling this will be like "The Killer" theatrical release.... a very small number of theaters, maybe Alamo Drafthouses.... I hope I'm wrong

There is no visible grain, but that shot doesn't look bad. It was in some of the close-ups that I felt like excessive DNR was applied. Not Terminator 2 territory, but they sometimes looked off.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cameron wanted to make it look like a digitally shot film, while trying to avoid the full-on wax and very unnatural image of Terminator 2. He probably tried some compromise he was happy with.

The alternative is a 30 year old 4x3 transfer. That wave shot is not available any other way.

We also have to realize again, it's a heavily compressed 1080p YT video, there is likely some DNR but I bet the actual transfer looks significantly better

Deep down, we all knew this would be a festival of DNR.

But it's a great movie and we have no other release to fall back on or hope for, so I'm ultimately just happy that I'll own a copy.

Anyone know where the music in the re-release trailer is from? Sounds a lot like Silvestri’s score, but seems hard to be sure from memory alone if it’s music from the film or some similar sounding modern music from elsewhere.

Random question: does anyone here have YouTube Premium? I'm asking because if you have YouTube Premium, 1080p videos will have a resolution option called "1080p Premium". It promises to deliver a far higher bitrate than YouTube normally does. If anyone here has YouTube Premium, how does the trailer look in 1080p Premium vs. regular 1080p?
