Went in there to return one last item. Just waiting to see what certs I end up with that need to be used. Still have movies, but nothing new and I already have what I want from what they carry. I went down the games aisle and the gaming selection was really lousy since the last time I checked a few years back.

I apologize in advance, but will there be any exclusive edition type packaging for The Abyss, Aliens, or True Lies? Or will they simply be standard 4K cases with slipcovers?

I see that the abyss is number one on preorders. Aliens is number 2 and true lies is number 3. Probably the very long wait for home media for blu ray and 4k.

I watched the iTunes version and I thought it looked great. But hell, I'm just excited to be living in a world where I can finally retire my non-anamorphic DVD.

Same. Tired of squinting at the screen.

I had that DVD for years and sold it probably a decade or so ago because I was tired of dealing with that.

This may sound crazy, but I'm almost a little sad they didn't take the old open matte transfer and stick it on as a bonus feature. It's interesting to see alternate versions of movies like this.

It may be too early to confirm this, but does anyone know if the blu ray disc with the special features is likely to be region free? I'd like to import the US 4K (since the UK will not be receiving this release!!!!), but if I can't view the blu ray, it'll be pointless to do so. I never bothered with a multi-region player as most of what I want is either available here or is region free anyway.

Does anyone know if there will be a separate Blu-ray only release?

Exactly, I expect for The Abyss an edition that comes with a bucket of salt water and a plastic form shaped like the water tentacle.

When I had more time on my hands I set up 2 sets of TVs and VCRs and watched both the wide and 4:3 together. I only recall a couple of scenes where the 4:3 was vastly different. It wasn't as protected for 4:3 as T2.

This is what I'm hoping for. I don't really see the point of 4k if the resolution is going to keep twitching.

I see an Italian Eagle edition has appeared so that's one more option for the Brits!

As someone who won't shut up about wanting censored TV versions of movies (especially Aliens - my god man, if anyone can help me get my hands on that, please help me out), the 4:3 version would be neat to have. It's deleted material, after all.
