Are you actually kidding? The Sony thing has no bearing on it whatsoever and as Disnee regularly put out steelbooks for their titles - yes, even in their sclerotic state they still managed to put out steels for new releases and re-released other stuff in steels - so yes, I think steelbooks for these are inevitable. These regular versions are going to sell like gangbusters first up and if there's one thing that guarantees re-releases it's something selling a shitload to begin with. Imagine steels with the OG poster art...ohmaigod

No, not kidding. For one thing isn't Walmart now their sole steelbook retailer? If they were planning on doing it they would be doing it now methinks.

the original covers for many classic films are great as a cover.
the abyss had some unusual original posters without the actors..
so I don't mind the new cover.

the abyss has sold a lot. chances of a re-release are great in maybe 20 years or so.

Why have people buy it once when you can make them buy it twice? If you steel it, they will come

On my US Amazon account it states...
"Pre-ordered"
"We will email you when we have an estimated delivery date."

I hope Disney didn't miss calculate the quantity of discs to be produced... On Amazon over 10,000 on pre-order. I'm curious to know how many more were pre-ordered elsewhere in the US.

Not a big fan of "This footage was then “optimized” by Park Road’s proprietary deep-learning algorithms." and "...fine detail has been “enhanced” algorithmically." I know it won't look as bad as Get Back but this stuff just puts a chill down my spine.

And so it should, but for whatever reasons Abyss is easily the bestest looking one out of these three, retaining a nicely filmic veneer with only the bizarrely sharp eyes and occasional heavier noise reduction giving the game away. Still looks great.

At least I can fall back on my Alien Anthology set for Aliens. The Abyss and True Lies never had a good shot.

If what he is saying about audio error with wrong line in SE is true, then it is really cool that it is fixed. Great job noticing and reporting the error to production team.

edit: It was actually someone from twitter, "SuperDan", who noticed this error.

That would be me. I noticed the errors in the theatre in December and got in contact w/ Bill.
