Happy 200 pages! Will we reach 300? I can't recall page count when this was in the Wish List thread.

I just drove to a Barnes and Noble 20 minutes away that said they had it in stock in the store. I got there and quickly searched the media section and couldn’t find it. I asked and the worker said they did have it. She said it came in yesterday according to her log. She sent someone to the back and he quickly came back with a copy for me!

Theatrical cut approx 51 mins in when Ed Harris and Mary E. M. are conversing, dialogue seems to be out of sync - unless its always been that way due to adr?

Tried watching my copy tonight but it froze around 40 chapters in. Oppo 203.

This format ****ing blows. The failure rate of these discs is entirely too high.

It’s not the disc, it’s the OPPO. Get the UB820.

In Disney’s mind an ultimate collectors edition is just the movie on a disc. That why literally every release they put out now has that branding.

How does the old doc 'Under Pressure ' look on the Blu-ray? I love those old docs we used to get on DVD, I'm looking forward to watching that almost as much as the film.

A lot of people talk about the slipcover and the stickers. And there is something I really don't understand about the US releases which have these slipcover : why are they not wrapped under plastics with the amaray ??
In Europe, Slipcovers are protected under plastics in shops. And there is no hole at the back for the barcode.
I really don't understand why they choose to put the slipvover over the wrapped in plastic amaray....

Some US Slipcovers are shrinkwrapped, it really just depends on the studio. Most of the major studios never do wrap them though.

I sometimes receive European releases that don't have the Slipcovers shrinkwrapped either. StudioCanal releases for instance never seem to wrap them...not to mention they're often tissue-paper thin.

The only studio that shrinkwraps the slip in the UK is Sony, the rest are just something put over the top of the sealed plastic case.

The barcode cut out on US releases is something that always puzzled me, guess it is to stop someone being charged for just the slip but honestly when would that ever happen.

It's really just to stop people at B&M stores like Wal-Mart from taking a case from a more expensive movie and then just sliding it into a lesser priced Slipcover with a barcode on the back of it.

I said Europe, but I thought about French releases. It happens only one time I bought a french bluray with slipcovers not wrapped in plastics (Le Dernier Loup from JJ Annaud).

Arrow has the best slipcover wrap, it's folded down not heat shrinked like MVD do which just crushes the paper. I also don't see the point in bare slips with wrap underneath, makes it show up damaged from supply chains knocking about. The giant stickers over the slip art are also peak stupidity they should be on the wrapping. Doesn't help the paper is so thin now on these slips they get damaged real easy.

On a lark, I went to Walmart and ordered the film yesterday morning. This morning, Walmart notified me that the film shipped today, less than 24 hours after I put my order in. So I have to ask, what's up with Amazon?}

After I posted the above note yesterday, Amazon sent me this notice last night:
New estimated delivery date:
Monday, April 15, 2024 - Friday, May 17, 2024

That's ridiculous. Another month to two months additional wait time to fulfill an order that I put in on February 2 after Walmart fulfilled it in less than 24 hours.
That's the message I also got. One last eye-poke from this release.
