It's not too bad to be honest. It's really expensive to import movies from America to the UK but pretty cheap to import movies from Germany, France, Italy, Spain etc. I mainly get my imports from Germany and Spain, sometimes America if no other option, sometimes Australia too.

Right? It'd be SUCH a simple solution. Or if you're gonna stack it at the factory, put the 4K on the fookin bottom! But no, idiot customers won't see it and they'll send it back. Just do anything except stacking the entire reason for buying a 4K UHD on top of another disc.

Receiving mine tomorrow. Hoping for the best. If it’s jacked at least I only paid $24.99.

Has anyone looked at the version of "The Abyss" that's currently available for streaming in the States? Does that look like the same master as the disc?

I haven't watched the movie since it was out in the theaters. I'm thinking maybe I should watch it again to see if I even like it before shelling out for the disc.

Anyone in Scandinavia got it yet? Curious if it features a slip case, my order from Ginza did not turn up today as I hoped.

Mine should arrive on monday 4/29. CDON listed separate releases for limited slip case release and regular case. Mine should have a slip case, altough I don't care if it's without.

After seeing many of my DVDs from late 90s have their back side deteroriated from exposure to sunlight I welcome slip cases. I would like for Sweden to have them, makes an early purchase more meaningful if they are limited.

The thing is the problem would be transferred to the slipcase that would be the one fading. The best thing is to store them away from direct sunlight or fluorescent tubes which is quite bad too and luckily on their way out.

I have an easier fix. Spray paint. Nice clear coat over the slipcover with UV resistant Gloss. Boom! Protected for decades and no more hiding from the sun like an Otaku vampire.

I learned my lesson, my blinds are positioned to avoid much of the sunlight during the day. Even Bela Lugosi would enjoy my Billys

It is good to see someone here cares about Bela Lugosi's photophobia.

The one on Hulu has the 4K restoration credits, so that's probably the version they're sending out now.

Christ, I think Cameron has gone blind! The AI manipulation gives the image a very uncanny valley appearance.

Worth mentioning that that ^ scene between Bud and Linsey is easily the most DNR'ed bit on the UHD, the rest of it looks much betterer.

Yes, I remembered the 4K disc looking quite good for the most part (some parts with oddly missing grain notwithstanding), but seeing a direct comparison of the master with and without the AI "special sauce" buffoonery makes me wonder about what might have been...

My favourite way to enjoy The Abyss now.
Any idea where that mix came from? Don't get me wrong, the DTS we all know and love is great but the 2.0 is something else.
It's a downmix of the 5.1 track from the BD, however that mix was directly based off of the original mix anyway
