My US copy arrived from WOWHD yesterday. Pristine discs. Watched the SE tonight and it played flawlessly. Happy days.

How long did delivery take? My order of the same title has been with Evri since Tuesday 30Th and made zero progress. Sadly a lack of wow, and not evri one is a winner thanks Last edited by petermaverick; 05-05-2024 at 08:14 AM. Reason: spelling |

Mine had Evri on one of the labels on the packaging. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it arrived tbh - had the dispatch email last Friday and it turned up the following Friday, and I didn’t bother to keep any tracking to see it’s progress.

I get a lot of stuff from WOW delivered by Evri. Once Evri receive it, it's usually delivered within 2 days (if they don't lose it). I'd try to get in touch with Evri and chase it up. Good luck!

My Scandinavian disc turned up yesterday, since nada for UK, and with a little trepidation, I've absolutely enjoyed watching the special edition again. Huge wave of nostalgia. I've deliberately not watched this for years waiting for blu and then 4k, but I wore my laserdisc out in the antediluvian days of LD.
As has been said, aside from the general lack of grain and odd shot of people with waaaay too pronounced eye and forehead wrinkles, this transfer doesn't stray too often into AI weirdness. I had more of an issue with the revised colour timing, which makes the grading seem a bit anaemic now when you're used to how rich it was, but still. The Atmos is immense though! I'm firmly of the opinion this is Jim Cameron's best film. It ticks all the boxes. Last edited by anephric; 05-05-2024 at 03:30 PM. |

I have no issue with Evri drivers doing this as second jobs, hotels and restaurants work in much the same way but they just employ more staff. Have a good day now |

Presumably it’s already been mentioned, but the archive footage in the first interview with Jimbo on the extra disc looks absolutely horrid. I’m guessing it’s been run through his funky AI grain-remover, but it ends up looking like you’re watching a moving watercolour painting.

I finally got my 4K disk and I examined it a bit. As discussed prior, way deep into this thread's history, the Atmos track was reported to have at least two audio errors at the end of the special edition with the music due to the branching (originating from the 2000 DVD release's 5.1 track). Well sadly, I managed to find a THIRD error and it's in that same sequence again.
It starts at 2:38:40 right after Bud types "keep pantyhose on". That entire sequence had an alternate special edition cue but the Atmos track uses the incorrect theatrical cue until 2:39:06 whenever it switches to the special edition cue, then of course back to the theatrical cue whenever you hear the incorrectly pitched note. I was able to figure it out because of the way it was mixed, the special edition cue sounds far more airy and somewhat distant, compared to the more upfront mixing of the theatrical cut's music. I know that it's been quite a while since these errors were discussed, but I figured I'd mention this third error anyway (and I'd argue it's the biggest one of them) that way it wasn't entirely unreported. Unsurprisingly, the 2.0 and 5.1 tracks do not have these errors, so if you wanna watch the special edition error free, avoid the Atmos track entirely. |
