For Star Wars itself, there are a ton of things that just look silly. And let's not forget the Greedo in the room. That change did NOT need to happen. It wasn't in the original script, nor the novel that the script is based on. Lucas did it to appease to kids. And those rocks in front of Artoo is just stupid.

Empire - that stupid addition of Vader on his Star Destroyer in reel 6 kills the pacing of the end of the film.

Like I said, I don't begrudge anyone their feelings about the changes. I'm just not going to be bothered by them since the story is largely unchanged.

The Greedo thing has always been overblown, but I think it illustrates my point. Tatooine operates by western rules (no one cared that Obi-Wan lopped off an arm for instance), which means since Greedo drew first and literally dug his pistol into Han's chest, it doesn't matter if a few seconds later Han waits for Greedo to "shoot first" or not.It really doesn't alter his character. It's just different not really better or worse. Why George thinks it matters, I don't know. But he's a detail guy and that detail bugged him. Even if the effect looks goofy now, many of the original effects looked goofy. So, again, different, not better or worse.

Wouldn't "Western rules" include Han shooting under the table? And yes, it does change his character because he killed Greedo since he was threatened, not just because he missed from a distance of 2 feet (which is laughable in itself).

Its been in high demand ever since it was announced and released on 4k.. it sold out quickly and they didn't make the amount that was needed.. other titles had the same issue. I got lucky and ordered when amazon announced it. I got it the week of release. a few days after.. I was out of town and I had to wait to get back home to watch it.

I scored the JC Trifecta about a month after the initial release at the local Best Buy.
(in Canada where they still carry physical media...for now )

The Abyss 4K UHD can be found on amazon.ca (Canada) for $29 (CAD)
