Why? If you wanna see the same equivalent UHD image, it's already on the previous page.

Edit: ok it's been posted for you now anyway

Purchase on Vudu and link your MA to Amazon and it'll show up on Amazon.

He's highlighting the lines on the sweater for comparison, I wanted to see the highlights.

So in the UHD, we see lines that were not there on the sweater in the bluray, so the UHD created new longer lines.

Unless the original was so low res that we really couldn't see the lines at all..?

For those that D2D'd 'The Abyss Theatrical' in SD on Vudu, did it transfer over to the new version of the movie and is now MA? Also, did it only keep SD quality rights? Thanks!

If you think this looks fine then I suggest a trip the neurologist becase there is something wrong with how your eyes and brain are working together.

Until someone can prove otherwise, then yes, that's what I'd go with.

And seeing as it's the sharpness that is also making them more visible, then the no sharpness in the other pic is probably also playing a part as to why they couldn't be seen.

And it's not a case of can't see the lines at all. You can see them slightly, (that's what contibutes to the opinion of that they was already there)

I did see the recent theatrical release and this looks similar to better than what I saw with that. It has been a long time since I've seen The Abyss before that (DVD would have been the last time) and while I did see this theatrically when it came out, I don't recall much about it from back then. There isn't much in the way of grain to be seen, but there is still good fine detail and depth to the image. It doesn't look nearly as processed as Aliens and True Lies to me. Fine facial features look more natural than Titanic (thankfully). I only got to watch about 15-20 minutes of it, but without a doubt this is the best of the ones that were released today. I still can't help but wonder what these movies could have looked like if someone else had done the restoration/new transfers (Arrow/Shout/Warner Classics).
That’s what I remember from watching it in Dolby as well last week. Very little-to-no grain (really shot dependent, and it was usually a bit more visible in the underwater shots). Didn’t look super waxy to me but definitely smoother than film should look, even from a negative.

If you have to zoom in to show a knitting on a sweater has been sewn by Mr. Magoo, you might be looking a little too closely.

I doubt they even understood what the actual problem was/is there, but...I also didn't think EITHER of these issues would get addressed, so I'll be thrilled to be proven wrong here. If they fixed both, I'm one happy Abyss fan.
