I was disappointed to see black crush on the BFI release, but when I compared the BFI PQ and Criterion SDR screens, there was nothing lost in those shadows. The Criterion simply has brighter shadows where there’s no actual detail in the blacks.
BFI for me
anyone compared the blu ray to the 4k online ?

Sony almost always (if not exclusively) use DV MEL.

Thanks! Been waiting for full comparisons since the French steelbook dropped. Guessing it's the same disc. Will definitely grab this. Highlights seem a bit meh on both (esp 22, 25, 30) but pretty much everything else looks better on the new disc. The last 8 or so don't really show as big of a difference as the rest but it's still nice

Not sure, was mainly going off it being the same steel. Someone might've posted bdinfo for it on one of the threads?

If it's blu-ray.com page is correct, the French release has an avg bitrate of ~74mbps and looking at the mediainfo for the StudioCanal it is ~83mbps

What's the best title for HDR10 vs DV comparison? Just enabled LLDV with an HDfury device and doing some testing.

30th Steelbook is on a BD-100, and it takes advantage of it. Much better retention of high-frequency detail.
