Screenshots are lossless, of course. I have years of experience in capture and encoding, and I wrote all the scripts that most people are using in this thread. Do not worry about that.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse SDR vs HDR comparison

HDR screenshots, in order to view them correctly on Windows, you must use a Chromium browser with Windows HDR enabled, and the brightness slider set to the value of 31.

That is immensely disappointing then, especially for the exorbitant prices they charge for the hardware. Sucks to see they likely set and forget with their encodes considering how wildly varying they can be here. Looking at the Poor Things caps, some have much better grain on K-Scape, some are kinda tied between K-Scape and BD, and a few I noticed the MA STREAMING has more grain! And the Poor Things K-Scape encode is huge too, over 80gb for HDR10!

MA almost always has more grain than Blu-ray disc encodes. They also have a lot of encoding artifacts, which are very visible in motion. So Kscape definitely has the best version of Poor Things... The comparisons I posted are pretty much random, but it's not hard to find an ugly MA frame. e.g.: https://slow.pics/c/T2yNNcD1

It's definitely the best, but it sucks that in frames like this you still get the encode crapping itself a bit in the highlights like some poor Criterion and Kino encodes. Makes me wish we'd get a Poor Things 4K with Disney's own encoding, which is usually fantastic.

Is the post before yours the price of Kaleidescape titles?

When is Con Air coming to 4K UHD on disc? The K-Scape looks beautiful.

From what I've noticed, once a catalogue title appears on iTunes with an obvious improvement/4K remaster, it gets announced for upcoming UHD Blu-ray release within 6-12 months, if not sooner. I think it's been about 6 months now, time will tell though, as much depends on Touchstone and Disney/SONY.

My guess would be at some point this year, based on nothing.

Yeah that one's a pretty infamous case. Was done super early in the format's life before Dolby Vision had the potential to salvage Paramount's B-team encodes, and has never gotten redone, whether by Paramount or Plaion.
