That's what we get for not waiting. Though, the disc penetration wouldn't be as good as it is now, relatively speaking, if we had.

Okay, nobody knows. I guess the fact that Costco will be blowing the current Samsung 4K players out at under $200 (and is now only $208 on Amazon) means there's a new one coming out.

That current model came out just after the new year, so hopefully the 2nd gen replacement will as well.

Soon!

Barring something unforeseen, the Oppo still looks like where it's at.

$199 plus $10 gift card at Best Buy.

$189 plus lifetime return (with valid card) at Costco starting 11-17. Costco's the better buy if you have a membership.

I believe it's on sale Nov. 18 to Nov. 28 at Costco.

Nope. I am looking at the printed "Holiday Saving" brochure that I got at Costco today. Samsung will be on sale November 18-28.

And like I said... I just received a members only Black Friday e-mail notice today that stated it would be placed on sale starting the 17th as part of the Samsung 4k holiday sales (including certain TV's), which debuted today.

Other Samsung models will start being discounted one day later on the 18th. They're staggering the sale prices.

Honest injun.

The $10 difference you get in a gift card and I think Best Buy is the better deal for me since all 4K titles will be $17.99. So you can use the $10 gift card towards a UHD title and you only pay $7.99 plus tax.

If you have a membership, the Costco return policy on this device makes it IMHO the better deal.

Only time that happens is if I enable Deep Color

My tv just blew out and I'm getting an LG 60" 3D/4K tv. Would this player work well with it or should I hold out for the next gen player? I'm pretty new to his market and don't know much (embarrassed to say) about the 4K tech right now. I have the proper HDMI cords for 4K. I just would like a player to play 4K content as well as 3D (or will my Playstation 4--it's not pro--work for the time being for 3D content?)

It should work okay with HDR10 material (no Dolby Vision players just yet), but I don't know what model LG you're interested in.

That's way out of my budget, but thanks for the input. I'm getting an LED one that suits my needs and price range. I'm getting it on Saturday and can't wait. I got some extra discounts on this that brought down the price.

55" Oled 4k for less than $2000. How much would you be paying for a LED instead?
