Ok as for the hdcp 2.2 error going through a denon 910 using monster ultra hd black platinums, here's the rundown of my collection of 4k's.
Y = getting hdcp 2.2 error N = not getting hdcp 2.2 error Ender's Game - N - Lionsgate Fantastic 4 - Y - Fox Hancock - N - Sony Hitman - N - Fox Kingsman - N - Fox Witch Hunter - N - Lionsgate Mad Max - Y BD Menu Only - WB Maze Runner - N - Fox Scorch Trials - N - Fox Salt - N - Sony Sicario - N - Lionsgate Xmen Days of - N - Fox I must say I was surprised by my results I thought the issue was more prevalent than this. As far as Fantasic 4 goes this happens before the menu loads. All of these play in 4K. Mad Max just gets the error on the menu only, it plays in 4k fine. So the problem is minor considering it only affects 2 titles out of the ones i have. And again they both goto 4k after that error. My tv is the sony xbr65x850b. With this in mind I can't help but think a firmware update might take care of this. I think i'll be keeping it going through the denon 910 avr. Last edited by Mtnbiker2001; 03-07-2016 at 09:54 PM. |

Lucky!!! I ordered mine on Amazon on the 28th, so I'll probably have a few more weeks to wait. Hoping it's not too much longer. Enjoy it.

So im finding some issues with how this player outputs "4k". Some people have discussed possible DNR on these discs. But the problem might be the player itself.
With the mad max disc, heres an upclose facial shot. 1 picture is with the resolution set to "auto", which is defaulting to 4k since it is a 4k disc. the 2nd picture is with changing the resolution on the player to "1080P". anyone else see some major differences with the texture of his face and the sharpness of his eyes? there is more detail with the player set at 1080P! ![]() ![]() if anybody has the HDMI screen capture and would like to try to replicate this that would be great. |

And with his face so red resolution is possibly not your biggest problem. This rollout is not going very well so far. Last edited by Oliver K; 03-08-2016 at 06:28 AM. |

Can't test that yet.
Do you have the timestamp from that Mad Max shot? Also, i have my player set at 2160p forced. As I mentioned before the only hidden features are with Dynamic, Standard & Movie. It's entirely possible all 3 have some DNR applied. User setting, nope. |

Figuring in import duties and VAT which don't figure into the US price - something people forget again and again - the Samsung would cost about 550$ in the UK coming from its reduced 399$ price which at todays exchange rate would come out to about £385. If you add in the free copy of The Martian that isn't too bad and only about 5% off the reduced US price.

im using the user setting. upscaling your 1080P content will have a similar effect of "smearing". my oppo does the same thing so ive always kept 4k upscaling off of that also. |

and yes resolution is a bigger problem, because colors can be adjusted but resolution cant. having the player output 4k is "proper" but when its not doing its job properly that is a problem. panasonic and oppo cant release their players soon enough. |

When I switch the player from auto to 1080p, the picture becomes blurrier and the blacks get crushed, resulting in a less detailed, darker and more saturated image. It definitely looks a lot better at auto on my end. The only thing I can think of that's causing the issue for you is that you may have snapped the comparison at a different frame? There's some subtle camera movement within that same second of the scene you compared that can cause it to look sharper one frame and then blurrier in the next. |

If you take pictures with a camera close to the screen, make sure you use a tripod with 3 second delay on the camera so that the tripod/camera stops shaking once you press the button. Last edited by James Freeman; 03-08-2016 at 08:49 AM. |

Using a camera with a touch screen button eliminates the camera shake most of the time. |

Can you try this again without moving the place of the camera (on a table with a couple of books or a tripod) and with timed delay? |

I have ordered Fury Road though this is yet to arrive so I cannot comment on Rays issue here. In total, I have purchased 19 Movies, 14 of which I have and 5 to be delivered.
I did watch The Last Witch Hunter last night and was very, very impressed with the Picture. The movie itself leaves a lot to be desired but so far, no issues with the player at all. I imported mine into the UK and can confirm that Netlix works fine, along with ITV Player and 4 On Demand so all good from me ![]() |

I haven't had a problem with Fury Road outside of the digital noise in a few scenes which is inherent to the transfer. I'm set to RGB enhanced, forced 2160p, Deep Color auto, and Dynamic picture, but then again, my monitor isn't HDR supported (which might have something to do with it) but I've compared Sicario, Fury Road, and The Martian and have been amazed by the improvement and haven't had any playback issues on other discs (other than the brief signal interruption on one DVD). That picture of blurred Tom Hardy is unsettling though. Glad I didn't encounter that.

![]() ![]() £399 with the movie would've been the best I could've hoped for, but as it is they're trying to squeeze every penny from the UK consumers that they can. Panasonic's machine is FAR meatier in terms of build & connections and comes with two movies for just £170 extra, so either Panasonic are lowballing their price or Samsung really are taking the piss. Either way, Samsung doesn't come out of it smelling of roses. |
