If you are forcing 2160p, and it is using DC, you have 2160p 12 bit and they may be causing some issues with your chain.

any other video settings that I should turn from auto to off when forcing 2160p? Most of my video settings are on auto since I use both UHD 2160 and HD 1080 devices

I am running my auto for resolution and 24FS. I have DVD 24FS off, and DC off. Ycbcr 444 as well. I have not had any blips with those settings but I know when I first got it and DC was on with 2160p 444, it did not play well.

I never used RGB for anything. Ive found in the past some things in the chain do not play well with RGB at all, and most CE source devices output ycbcr or have it as a choice (dvr's, blu-ray players). This is the problem Roku's have caused with certain AVRs and displays, Roku's output RGB 444 and there is no other option.
I keep my rez on auto and my color space on ycbcr 444 for blu-ray and Netflix. That is the point of a test disc like Spears and Munsil. You set a color space and look at the chroma patterns (there are other patterns too) to see how it is doing. On my OLED, 1080p ycbcr 444 has issues, and 1080p ycbcr 422 is fine. For 2160p ycbcr 444 is fine, if that makes any sense. So since my 8500 always outputs 2160p in Auto, I leave it set to ycbcr 444. I use YCBCR 444 for everything, it never changes. |

If a device is not handling the color conversion properly you can get some odd color issues, maybe noticeable maybe not. Some AVR's would add some pink to the screen with RGB in. That is why one should never go on face value and test their chain when they get it.
The theory is also that when you see clipping in fine color resolution that it doesn't affect the real world. Maybe so, but if you can set the player were you get no clipping, that would be preferred. |

Not sure. I have seen reports of green and pink from RGB that is forced. All depends on what devices you are working with.
Post #3 and #7 here are good. Understand how to check for a good setting, but am not versed well enough how to explain it all. When I get new items in the chain, I just test with Spears and Munsil and find the one that passes the patterns best. http://www.whathifi.com/forum/blu-ra...r-rgb-enhanced |

Id almost bet $$$ Auto color space is sending ycbcr 444. Your Denon can probably tell you in the menu under information where it shows incoming and outgoing video details.

WHen you go into Denon or Marantz settings, and general. They have an information screen, one for audio and one for video. They are quite accurate.
When I play a blu-ray for example, video reports 1080p/24 in and 1080p/24 out; ycbcr 444 and ycbcr 444; 8 bits and 8 bits. UHD disc is 4k/24; BT2020; 10 bits. Roku will say 1080p/60; RGB 444; 8 bits |
