Whats the main pros that this Sammy player has over the Philips?
How bad and serious is the handshaking issue on the Sammy? |

For my devices connected through my receiver, it does show the info when I first turn the TV on, but I just can't figure out how to get the info to show again after they're on. |

![]() I think it's upconverting the image, and that's why it's showing 2160. What is the benefit of the Anynet feature? Is it just to turn on other devices with one remote? |

Yes, any net basically links your devices exactly as you are saying. I actually don't like it. |

For the same price: Philips BDP7501 or Samsung UBD-K8500?
Just curious which you would go for, both for the exact same price. Right now I have the Philips but I see that Best Buy will have the Samsung player for the same price and thinking about exchanging it. Would you? |

Not just that. I have mine connected directly to my Samsung TV and when the player is turned on it automatically changes the TV input to the BD input. The only downside is that when you turn the player off it defaults to the TV tuner, which has nothing on it. it also acted wonky when running through my Onkyo receiver, defaulting the input to TV/CD whenever there was a change in the audio program. Still, I can see it being a cool thing with all the right pieces in place.

This is probably a dumb question but I read that this player requires 2.2 HDMI input.
Is the copy protection housed within the player or the disc? To phrase another way, are there players that don't require 2.2 HDMI input that would be able to play the 4K movies? The reason I ask is b/c I have one of the 2013 models that I don't think has HDMI 2.2 (55LA96500) |

1) A downgrade to 1080p or in the case of some streaming content, 2) No picture at all. Meaning, go check out the Black Friday sales for 4k HDR displays and run to snag a new one. ![]() If your TV is HDCP 2.2 compliant (and some models only have specific HDMI ports that are), but your receiver is not... Take HDMI 1 directly to the TV. Take HDMI 2 to your receiver for audio (making sure HDMI audio is set to Bitstream (Unprocessed), PCM downconversion OFF, and dynamic range to OFF.). This is off topic and probably very inappropriate for this forum (if you could direct me to a better place to post this I would be appreciative) but I can't watch full 4K videos from the YouTube app on this player. The video is listed as '4K' but when I play it it only says 'HD' and I can't change this. All other 4K content such as UHD Blu-ray's play fine. Sorry again but this is frustrating me.
