That's interesting that they say it's 4k yet the DCP is 2k. Do you think it's a mistake?

They did the same for Now You See Me 2. From what I can decipher from the American Cinematographer, NYSM2 had a 2k DI:

The final grade was performed at Deluxe's Company 3 in Santa Monica, where Deming and Chu worked with colorist Stephen Nakamura, who — for the standard 2K DCP in P3 color space — employed Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve 12 in a grading theater outfitted with a Barco digital cinema projector. For the HDR version, Nakamura completed a subsequent pass in Resolve 12, again in 2K, in Company 3's Dolby Vision-equipped theater. The colorist and Deming agree that a key challenge during the DI was in matching and integrating visual effects seamlessly into scenes that largely consisted of live-action elements. "But we didn't need to do many radical things to the color palette," Deming says. "For the most part we had decided when we went into the project [which elements] would be more or less saturated. We mainly wanted to keep things natural and realistic — maybe accentuating weather and things, but most of it was art-direction based."

How many bits do you digitize a film in?

The scan is done in a 16-bit uncompressed workflow. It has limitations in what the scanner can do, but the workflow is done in the widest format possible for mastering.

Not that it’s a 4K flick, but got to ask as it’s beyond my scientific knowledge, but is this dude holding an old Norelco shaver or what? .....

Occasionally, yeah. I doubled up on my last visit, checking in with family and catching a 15/70 IMAX showing of Batman v Superman. I think I'm starting to acclimatise to life down here though, but then again summer is when this place springs into life, as seaside towns are wont to do. Been a bit of a buzz about the place thanks to the filming for Dunkirk as well.

Reminds me, for those friends into flow charts of theatrical workflows, you can see that every type of projector requires its own grade (once you grade and have an output referred LUT to a standard dynamic range projector you remove it and replace it with a different projector’s output referred LUT and trim the grade (trim pass) so the movie looks appropriate for that particular HDR projection system, be it Dolby/Christie or IMAX) …..

Sitting in on a color grading session is peanuts compared to what he endured during the making of the movie…. http://www.nytimes.com/1989/08/06/mo...pagewanted=all , which served as an underwater feature film milestone in no small part to Al Giddings.

Seems indeed a mistake. No further 4K signs here as well. My local cinema doesn't have a 4K DCP either.
