Oh thank **** for that. It would've been a CRIME to shoot using those lenses on that camera and only finish it in 2K.

Disney still hasn't jumped on the 4K UHD Blu-ray format. For now: no.

Something which is probably not included in the ACM article, but of which I will share. There has been a long-going (months!) behind the scenes lobbying effort to get Sony Pictures to provide a native format screening of Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk (BLLHW) for members of industry guilds and associations. Something akin to the special 70 mm film print screening of The Hateful Eight which was exhibited to industry professionals (cinematographers, etc.) about a year or so ago.

Despite the fact that the cinematographer for BLLHW, namely John Toll, ASC has graciously offered to make himself available for a similar Industry screening with Q&A, Sony Pictures has not agreed to facilitate such an exhibition.

Great effort, Sony really are total asses though, they showed so much disrespect to Ang and all those who worked on the film by just sabotaging its theatrical release.

There's a great article on Billy Lynn in American Cinematographer's December issue by the way.

Sony has abso-freakin'-lutely no idea about much of anything these days. The company is in a shambles.
