A little stock note to add to the end of an old previous post with regards to the single most commonly used monitor for HDR grading of UHD Blu-rays, namely the BVM-X300 –

and replace with these…..https://www.newsshooter.com/2018/09/...itor-ibc-2018/ .

The change in display type should mitigate previous problems with burn-in and premature aging -> dimming.
Sony plans to keep a very modest amount of the X300’s in stock in order to fulfill trade-ins or replacements for those clients wishing to keep their X300’s despite the dimming and burn-in inevitability.

^ if some local folks missed that heads-up ^ which I gave hours before the F-18 flyovers, not to worry, as after the movie itself launches David J. or Scott G. should have published much better pics.

Welp, I’m informed this subforum hovered around 3,400 – 3,500 real time viewers for a good part of this morning, which I think is quite exceptional and may have broken a record . I hope I didn’t make any typos or grammatical errors in my recent posts on this or the last page (the hyperlink to openEXR on the ILM website has since expired – so not my fault). Don’t have time right now to go back and proof read everything else, but will do so later if anything needs clarification.

Time for lunch now, for those new to “the island”, might I humbly recommend Il Fornaio’s - https://www.ilfornaio.com/coronado for yous who choose not to eat on the beach while keeping a proud eye on the non-public side of the hard deck bar (circled)

Thumbs up Dolby Vision Facility Certification Awarded to Pixelogic

Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos End-To-End Workflow Solutions Offered in One Location

https://www.broadcastingcable.com/po...d-to-pixelogic
Quote:
In 2017, Pixelogic was the first facility to offer Dolby Vision compression and authoring capabilities for Ultra HD Blu-ray. The company has since completed more than 30 Dolby Vision Ultra HD Blu-ray titles for six studio customers. Through this experience, Pixelogic has developed a range of Dolby Vision production skills, tools and innovative workflows.
Hope this helps solve some of DoVi’s growing pains.
