lol I mean like I said, I was just throwing that out there. I see on imdb the first 4 movies have a 2K DI master, but were filmed on 35mm. Technically those negatives could be rescanned into a 4K DI correct? Maybe that's where the realorfake site is going? Who know's.

lol Paramount's gonna rescan and remaster these? Just consider yourself lucky we're even getting catalog titles from them.

I'm considering selling a couple of my old blu-rays to upgrade to 4k (keeping one of my steelbooks though).

One of them is the "IMAX edition" or something. Should I hold onto that one, or will the 4k disc have the same thing?

Thanks

Hold onto it for now. We don't yet know what the AR will be for 2 and 4. (1 and 3 should be good, they're only ever scope anyway.)

Age of Extinction and the first movie are listed as "3 Disc" sets, so who knows what will, or won't be included. Plenty of discussion on this on the past few pages.

The 3 Disc distinction is strange, since Revenge of the Fallen had the IMAX big screen scenes, and that is not listed as a 3 Disc set.

Are they really three-disc? That means Paramount is including the bonus discs with all the documentaries and stuff. Surprising, since I don't think they've ever included them on any of the million re-releases these movies have had so far. Hopefully that pans out.

Transformers 3 Disc: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/transfo...skuId=33573149

Age of Extinction 3 Disc: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/transfo...skuId=33573176

I think its either a typo or strange since Revenge of the Fallen also had a separate bonus features disc, which should be included as well if they are including special feature discs.

I believe, and I could be wrong, that Dark of the Moon is the only TF film that did not have a separate bonus disc with the standard release? Wasn't it just a Blu/DVD combo?

Would be nice if each set included the 4K disc, including shifting Imax ratios if applicable, a blu ray version, also including the shifting Imax ratios, and a special features disc if one was originally included. No need for a DVD copy. I would also be down if they included the 3D disc if the movie had one, although I know that's highly doubtful nowadays.

Dark of the Moon had a bonus disc but it was only with the 3D version.

I've been vigilant about getting all the movies with their bonus discs so I'm good on that front; hopefully the 4K versions come with those discs for those who don't have them. I'm good on the 3D front as well, minus Last Knight, which I'll get down the road when it's cheap as hell. Honestly if there's a release somewhere like the UK Harry Potter set, which is just the 4K discs and codes and no Blu-rays, I'd prefer to just buy that. Will be cheaper and save me a lot of eBay hassle.

Pre-ordered them all from blowitoutahere.com. I don't want that UK set, and I don't want to sell my US copy of The Last Knight.

That's a couple of sexy parcels to look forward to in early December, (Dark Knight Trilogy from Germany),never mind Xmas.

I'll be hanging onto my BDs until I have the UHDs in hand, and know exactly what I can and can't sell.

If they do anything more than simply trawl a couple of sites for confirmation as to what's "fake" and what's not then I'd be very surprised.

Hanging on to my BDs too, I don't think that the VAR versions will be on there and nor will the extras discs, not as part of the UK 5-movie set anyway. But as I don't have TLK I might as well get the whole thing together and for £72 I'm betting that that's just a teensy bit cheaper than what 1-4 are costing you on that site, bearing in mind #5 is included also.

Aye, around £87 for them inc shipping. The digital copies and soon to be exiting 3D versions, will make it all nice again.

Good catch on the digital copies, Paramount UK are VERY reticent to put such things on new titles never mind catalogue ones, they should net you a few quid. But it's still not worth me changing over to the singles.

Yes, that is correct. Revenge of the Fallen and Age of Extinction both had a 'VAR' version on Blu-ray so we're all wondering whether that will get carried over to the UHD editions. (No worries about Last Knight because we already know it's VAR on the 4K)

Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness 4K were both three disc releases that included the special features Blu from the original release.

Thanks for the replies. I have the "plain Jane" release for the first one so that sounds like a safe bet to get rid of right? I think that is my favorite. Many of these are somewhat forgettable and kinda run together (then again maybe it's just my bad memory ha).
