uh, that is likely to be a PG13 sci-fi horror movie featuring Proto-Alien threats that eventually suggest where the Xenomorph comes from. I'm holding off until more solid info comes out about the rating of the film. It seems to be the topic of conversation about franchise films down-grading to PG13 instead of R rated. Most annoying...

New International Prometheus Poster released (1/22/2012) http://www.avpspectrum.com/2012/01/n...ster-revealed/ http://i.imgur.com/PW1li.jpg The head appears to be made of metal, not stone. Access to the star map shown in the trailer is inside the head, perhaps. Was the head found in the desert, on earth? Did the star map showing the origin of the Space Jockeys/Engineers lead to the forming of the Vickers/Shaw/Weyland expedition on the Prometheus?

I guess that 'giant stone head' is really going to be something very important in the movie.

Those "blue spacesuits" look way too much like Fantastic Four costumes, ugh.

The trailer looks pretty cool. I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. I haven't completely enjoyed a Ridley Scott film since Blade Runner. That's a great cast.

Final scenes of Prometheus shot in Scotland? Isle of Skye=LV-426?? Perhaps those shots of Vickers and Shaw running from the toppling Space Jockey ship, filmed in Iceland, were a little too flat to resemble the area where the derelict was discovered on LV-426 in Alien.

http://www.avpspectrum.com/2012/01/f...t-in-scotland/

The 'essentials' are delivered for the filming of the final scenes on the Isle of Skye for Prometheus. http://www.portabletoilethire.org/?p=470

Yup.
Watched the theatrical last night. Great stuff. It can see the influence it had on other films. I was surprised to see that the whole spacejockey thing was only in one scene. I thought it would be more important. I loved Ripley's character. She plays a good tough chic.

SOmething funny happened though. First time i started the film, there was a problem with my HDMI and there was no sound. So, for the first 10 minutes of the film, i just watched without sound. I thought it was supposed to be like that -_- With the whole, "No one can hear your scream in space" tagline, I thought Ridley Scott did it intentionally.

I restarted the films, once i realized there is a sound problem. But the funny thing is, I actually liked the silent beginning more

You guys should give it a try. crank the sound up once the computer starts to blink. Before that, watch it silent. Its pretty surreal:P

Going to check out the 2003 version either today or tomorrow.

The only time I found it to be important was from blu-ray.com. Prior to that I didn't think much about the space jockey either. For me it was just more of the cool creepy atmosphere. Interesting idea on the sound. I want to watch Alien again before I see Prometheus.

Make sure you watch Aliens as well. I also really enjoyed Aliens III but a lot of people don't like it.

Very soon. Before I do that though, I want to watch Alien a couple more times and absorb whatever I can from it.

I just watched the 2003 version cut today. I didnt notice any difference other than Ripley finding Dallas and Brett covered in web scene. I know there are more.I just need to watch it a few more times.

Yeah, I thought it was important due to the forums here too. It was cool tosee the space jockey in the Prometheus trailer too. And I plan to watch all the Alien movies before the release of Prometheus.

Most of the changes are subtle. Like when Lambert slaps the shit out of Ripley.

I still think that there is a height discrepancy between the size of the Space Jockey as seen in Alien and the same character in the Prometheus trailer. One looks about 12 feet plus, the other no more than about 7 feet tall.
