There is still disagreement about LV 426 being part of the Prometheus movie. 'Ripley' (Sigourny Weaver) thinks it will be:

There seemed to be brewing tensions between Weaver and Fox studios for some time. She was quoted as saying that she would liked to make one last Alien story where the crew went back to the planet, though she thought it unlikely that Fox would agree to cast an action hero over the age of 60. She no longer subscribes to this view, though she readily admits to radical differences in opinion: "Fox and I disagreed on how the franchise should continue. But I'm glad it's Ridley doing it, and I'll be as curious as anyone, or maybe more curious, to see it. I think he took my suggestion. Fox wanted to go to earth and I said: 'That's so boring. Who wants to see aliens on earth?' I said 'go back to the planet'." http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-en...n-6291884.html

There was word that Prometheus was originally going to be a 2 part film, but is now 1. If Fox want to make a sequel to the film that links Prometheus with Alien i'm sure they still have Paul W S Anderson's number on hand for hackwork.

Ridley Scott has said that the end of Prometheus links up with Alien. they just reduced the 2 films into one.

Wonder if it will be the last Alien film or all we can hope for in the future is more A V P movies, were any of those any good by the way?

Depends on the viewer. They're not the greatest. I find them entertaining, but they can't hold a candle to the original Predator or Alien movies.

When watching the films, you can tell the first AVP was made by a huge Alien fan; and AVP 2 was made by huge Predator fans.

The Aliens tend to dominate in AVP; while the Predator owns them in AVP 2

I honestly think species-wise the Aliens are superior but a lot probably think the same of the Predators. Guess I should check out the first one then since I greatly prefer the Alien franchise to the Predator one.

I prefer the Predator. They're definitely more heroic; with a sense of honor. The Alien's true strength lies I the fact that it's interested in breeding and gathering. No real motives besides reproduction.

I prefer AVP 2. The Predato looks MUCH better. In AVP, the Predator looks like he can barely move.

Thank you. I'm still trying to reconcile the idea of the size of the Space Jockey as we see one of his race on the platform as the Pod opens up. I guess we are moving into camera tricks ala FellowShip Of The Ring etc to make the actor look massive compared to the human beings in the film. Das cool.

Space Jockey sans suit?? If so, it probably has a very long memory and likes peanuts.

These images lead me to believe that the explosion depicted in the trailer is the result of
[Show spoiler]the Prometheus crashing into the Space Jockey ship. Some of the debris shown on the ground as Shaw and Vickers are running from the toppling ship appear to be remnants of the Prometheus landing struts.

Yep, I was thinking along those lines also as it appeared that
[Show spoiler]something hit the ship from behind. A missile or being rammed by another ship. Idris Elba's reaction in the trailer
made me wonder if that was why he looked so terrified.

Good catch.

Yes.
[Show spoiler]Idris is crasher, space jockey is crashee. Probably trying to stop the Space Jockey's return to Earth to wipe out mankind with the xenomorphs. Question is, where were Vickers and Shaw and how did they escape from the Prometheus? You could make a case for some of the debris around the explosion being escape pods. Perhaps thats what we see Vickers getting into in the trailer.
