What do you mean, I think every film ever made released wide has had a green band trailer, regardless of rating, very few trailers get a rating over 12a anyway, it's for maximum recognision

What are the chances that the 'theatrical cut' is PG-13 and Scott will later release an 'unrated' or 'director's cut' later on home video?

Rather high, unless they really feel they are tracking well enough to get the R-rated version of the film in theaters, or they decide that they'll scrub for maximum money and try and get people to double dip for the Director's cut.

I really hope they don't go for the Theatrical PG-13/Director's Cut R thing. Ridley Scott is a really great filmmaker, but he needs to stick to his guns more when it comes to the studios. His willingness to compromise is what led to the 'Kingdom of Heaven' butchering.

[Show spoiler]showing the ringed gas planet? It confirms my earlier post speculating that we were in Zeta Reticuli system either over LV 426 or one of the other two planets in that system.

No they are no not. Sorry.

But, regarding LV 426...after watching that shot of the ship landing, it appeared to me that the
[Show spoiler] ringed planet was out of scale from the ALIEN film. So I am now surmising that this is taking place on one of the other moons or planetoids orbiting the Saturn like planet.

In the U.S, R rated trailers sometimes run with R rated movies. The last Prometheus trailer I saw in the theater was in 3D and was rated PG 13 and ran with a PG 13 movie, so no surprise there. My point is I have seen nothing that indicates there is much of a chance that the theatrical release will be R rated.
In fact, the story hasn't changed since 2010: http://www.movieweb.com/news/alien-p...age=3#comments

It's a damn shame that we did not get the preview trailer of the trailer of the trailer.

80-90% at least. IF they release this as an R-Rated movie, we'll prob still get a "Director's Cut" down the line. Same scenario, even more so actually, if this gets the expected PG-13 Rating.

Yup - It'll prob be PG-13 & we'll get the first release, then 6-12 months later, the Director's Cut.

Yes, but I guarantee that those same R rated films have PG-13 safe trailers as well

It will be a wide release, so I'll guess $50 M if 'R' rated and $55 M if PG 13.
There doesn't seem to be much interest expressed by the youth demographic.(under 21)

Lots of my friends are unaware of this movie and unaware of the connection with Alien and I think that could be the problem here, I don't know what the situation is in the states. I think if as the promotional material builds up they make the connection for people they will get a bigger film taking.

Isn't this going to be R like Alien was?

.
Which reminds me how weird I thought it was in Aliens. We didn't even see a ringed planet in that film as far as I remember.
