Actually, that's the IMAX trailer mislabeled. The trailer shown at Wondercon was the full 2:30 min trailer in 3D. I think this 720P version of the IMAX was posted several pages back. |

Great News ! !
Back in the day, when Alien came out, before the Web and i-phones.... you just knew you had to go and see Alien, by the fantastic "word-of mouth" recommendations. Few movies prior to that had created the kind of buzz on the street that Alien had. The Exorcist did. Jaws did. 2001:A Space Odyssey did. Star Wars did. I remember seeing Alien at one of the few large single screen theaters left in Dallas, The Medallion, where it was shown as an exclusive engagment in the summer of 1979. The Saturday night crowd packed the theater. There were no cell phones then, but what I do recall is that everyone in the audience sat spellbound, watching Alien. There was no looking down or filddling with things or "chatting" with their friends.... And because it was a night show, there were no crying babies, or really any children in the theater. Very few people got up and left for a bathroom break. It was one of those rare, magical times when seeing a movie was an "experience". Perhaps this Ridley Scott presentation will indeed live up to that high expectation. The music played with the Prometheus trailers made me think of the group, The Crystal Method, that had it's music used in several Sc-Fi films... |

POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW:
I think the Mohawk military guy is the one who gets mutated and starts attacking the rest. He might be the guy who gets his face melted off as well. I was watching the first teaser yesterday and I noticed that the mutated guy has a mohawk and a beard! [Show spoiler] Looking at it again, the guy with the burning face in this shot only has a stubble and not a beard. He also has another helmet made of cloth over his head inside the helmet. [Show spoiler] In this shot, something is happening to this person's face but notice that he has a mohawk and that there is no cloth helmet inside the glass helmet : [Show spoiler] So this must be the mohawk guy getting transformed by the goo whereas the picture before where the helmet is off might be Holloway suffering some sort of effect due to the parasite inside him. |

Is anyone else hacked off that Prometheus is going to knock James Cameron's Aliens out of canon? Think about what Weyalnd Corp 'missed' when they looked at building the colony: Crashed Space Jockey ship. Space Jockey pyramid. Space Jockey underground hanger! Possible remenants of the Prometheus (if it too crashed). I mean, LV426 is going to be the equivalent of a planetary scrapyard!
![]() ![]() The main thing that winds me up is the fact that Scott seems to be willing to dismiss Aliens as 'Not my film so don't worry about continuity, Damon." That is why i thought (or perhaps didn't want to believe) that the planet seen in Prometheus is LV426. I thought that Not with the inclusion of the Pyramid and Hanger. ![]() |
