Has this gotten an mpaa rating yet? I was watching the show Naked Trailers on Reelz Channel, and they showed the imax trailer and afterwords the host said "Prometheus is rated PG-13 and is in theaters june 8th". Can anyone confirm this? I was hoping for an R rating.

Yes, it looks like it goes with the scene in the trailer where Dr. Shaw looks up at the ceiling with her light and says "it's changing" Possibly the walls can morph into life size models maybe to show the design plan on what the parasite creatures will turn into.

And your source is ............. ?

In short, you don't have one as a rating has NOT yet been been officially announced (and the Naked Trailers mention of a PG-13 has no backing), so quit spreading rumours.

I was going to say the same thing. Kind funny ain't it how it always seems to be the new members that want to come across as some valid source for the latest rumour, isn't it? Got a Citation for that, Therainberg?

Btw, because we haven't had it confirmed, if Prometheus is PG13 then i for one am sticking to my word and waiting for the R rated or uncut version on BD. Ridley Scott is one of the finest Directors in the world, you don't ask him to lower the intensity of one of his films so more kids can go and see it!

We have confirmation from Sir Ridley that both R and PG-13 versions of Prometheus are available. We don't know when the final decision will be made for the theatrical release rating.

I have seen statements from various sources that if the R rating is not on the theatrical release, it will be on the BD when it is released. I have never seen a confirmation of that from anyone associated with the film. Has anyone?

It seems to me that a phased dual rating theatrical release might reach the entire audience Fox wants. There has been some precedent for this with The King's Speech and perhaps other films as well. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/new...version-161385

I'll go see the movie regardless of rating, and if it's PG-13 so be it... I'll buy the director's/uncut/r-cut (whatever it is) when it's released. I do want to show support to Ridley's comeback to sci-fi. It's not for Fox, it's for Ridley because damn it....we needed him back!

MEDPOD 720I PATENTED

Weyland Industries earns patent number 16,572,092 for Method and Apparatus for the first fully-automated diagnosis and surgical station.

SEPTEMBER 2, 2061

And also notice that she is NOT in the restraints.

So she is performing surgery on HERSELF!

That explains a ton right there.

[Show spoiler]
And I bet the rest of the crew never even knew she had one of those in the oven. So here boyfriend became infected(trailer scenes of that alien worm digging into his eye), then impregnates her. So she keeps it a secret from the rest of the crew. It grows inside her at a tremendous rate(similar to the 2 alien stages from ALIEN). She finally does an ultrasound on herself(like Ripley did in Alien3), where she discovers the unholy abomination inside her. Then has the automated surgical station perform surgery on her, and afterwards stumbles down the corridor and into the lab, where she then collapses onto the floor in front of everybody.

Man I totally agree with you, OMG, this better be rated R, but knowing fox they will probably make it PG-13 to have a bigger audience. Soo cannot wait to see this !

Thanks for the screencap of the Prometheus bridge you posted yesterday.
[Show spoiler]I'm still leaning toward it being a shot of Prometheus in orbit monitoring the Magellan drop ship on the ground. Look at the viewscreen with the quad video images. I see the walled pyramid, do you?

I'm still not sure about what is going on in that surgical station
[Show spoiler] re the white slug-like entity. Are you saying that's what was removed and it instantaneously grew to that size? If you watch that segment of the trailer, it seems to be growing small pseudopods from the trunk that are touching her head at one point. I do remember in one of the first teaser trailers, there was something distending her stomach while she was in the surgical pod, so maybe you're right.

Some of it is plausible, but there are other discrepancies: In particular,
[Show spoiler]the shot of the thin white veined Engineer/prometheus? shown at the waterfall is probably at the beginning of the film

The major missing piece of the puzzle, not shown in any of the trailers is
[Show spoiler] Guy Pierce's character. Possibly the old man in the wheelchair in the med lab. But, then what? He plays a pivotal role in this picture. Watch the short one on one interview with Lindelof from the Wondercon convention. He stresses the importance of Pearce's role and suggests that that is what the fan base should be curious about. I know Pearce said early on that his character is in the film for "only a minute". I would suggest that he is only in the film for a minute as Peter Weyland. He may portray a more ominous character as well.

So, what are we seeing here?
[Show spoiler]Prometheus and Magellan? Or the escape pod landing with Vicker's?
Official TV spot 2 0:20.

Not sure why, but I only see the frames with the two ships when played at 480P, but not at 720P. The more I look at this, the more I see.
[Show spoiler] It appears to be the escape pod landing, while Prometheus heads for a collision with the alien ship. All three ships can be seen when the clip is in motion.

It must be so easy to make TV spots like that lol - they've got the sound fx from the Alien trailers and the VO guy going "From the director of 'Alien'...'Blade Runner'... and 'Gladiator."

I can't imagine anyone sitting home not getting pumped up for that.

I think were watching the beginning of a new franchise that will rival Star Trek
in years to come.

Naaa, I can't see that at all. Can you be a little bit more specific please?

Also, that shot from the trailer shows the cockpit window shields rolling down with at least two planetoids dead ahead at some distance(like they just came out of Hyperspace), and would not have released any drop ships yet.

What I find very interesting about that trailer, is Vickers quote: "If you are going down there, you are going to die."

Which seems to indicate that they are traveling back in forth regularly from orbit and the planet's surface in a drop ship(Magellan).

Aaaaand... I am also guessing that the briefing that Shaw and her boyfriend are giving the others, is not on Earth, but is right after they wake up from hypersheep because of all that exercise equipment in the background(to help them re-acclimate themselves after such a long sleep) and that one guy is wearing that same goofy hoody in that scene and also in the ship's cockpit.

Plus, best of all, that briefing after the ship leaves Earth, helps keep continuity with the other films, due to very very few people knowing about this mission, plus possibly all of them dying in it.

Yes. Zoom the image to 400%. Check the upper right hand corner for the two blue displays.
[Show spoiler] In the left display there is a section divided into 4 quadrants. The bottom two images there could be the walled city as sseen from the drop ship on the ground. After watching the latest TV spot, the three ships are shown, although I'm not sure if that's the escape pod landing or the Magellan drop ship. At any rate, it is Prometheus that is ramming the alien ship.

Regsrding maintaining continuity with previous films in the franchise:
[Show spoiler]They took care of that by stating in the Weyland Industries Timeline that the Prometheus Project was "highly classified" as I noted last week.
