Yeah the pile of bodies the two stranded guys found had their heads or chests burst.

2000 years was mentioned but I can't recall exactly where.

Was that the carbon dating from the body?

The headless engineer they first encounter is dated at 2000 years by a piece of tech Shaw has with her.

The pile of bodies were killed by chestbursters if we go by the line of dialogue that says something like "looks like this one exploded from inside."

I loved the movie but don't quite understand why David
[Show spoiler] planted the egg inside Charlie? He seemed to have some knowledge of what would happen before hand but he was following Peter's orders and he only seemed to care about meeting the "creator" humans.

To me, yeah. Of course it'll be brighter which will make the SPX look better.

I can't post links because I lost my account during the downtime so just google search

Prometheus Unbound: What The Movie Was Actually About

It's like the second hit from livejournal from a user named calavorn. He gives a real thorough breakdown of the "meaning" and significance of everything. It's full of spoilers so reader beware if you haven't seen the movie yet.

So disappointing. Visually it's fantastic and Michael Fassbender is tremendous, as usual, but the story just wasn't there.

Awkward comedic relief, characters doing the dumbest things, characters I mostly didn't care for, the film is kind of a mess.

That's why we have spoiler tags....c'mon...clue us in. I have no idea why it wasn't rated PG-13 (albeit a pretty intense PG-13).

I disagree with ever one of your critiques. The story was great if you could follow. I'm not saying you couldn't but I enjoyed it. Character development was what it needed to be for a sci-fi movie and if you were patient everything was explained. Really I was leaving for a 4.5 but decided to round up. Loved it.

I think the story looked like it was all over the place is because nobody had the same agenda. That's just my opinion.

[Show spoiler] the scene where David was having his secret talk with whoever it was before he was confronted by Charlize"s character, I don't think it was the old man. I think he was getting different orders since what the old man wanted was different then what David was doing. Unless David wanted to see what the black stuff actually does so that's why he exposed it to that guy.

I was fascinated by the film. I adore anything to do with human creation, space travel, origins of life, and tie ins to Christianity.

I do understand why there was some confusion from a lot of people. But being a quasi ancient astronaut believer, this movie hit a home run.

I was semi looking for a Alien prequel. I liked the small hints at things throughout the film. But I applaud the risk Scott takes at using the theory that humans were created by aliens on such a large scale project.

5/5

It works just as well or better as a standalone film. You don't go complaining about how the dots do or don't connect to the other films.

saw it today and liked it. 4 out of 5
too many unanswered questions, I guess 2 hours was not enough to explain everything. I blame the writers for every bad thing in this movie !
and whoever put the trailers,tv spots together,I would like to kick his S.
they pretty much showed me the whole movie, except the last 10-15 minutes.
still Prometheus is one of the best addition to the Alien universe !
first day 2D bluray buy for me .
