I really liked this movie. It wasn't perfect but it was a solid 4. I am looking forward to seeing what will happen next

The main way to polish this particular turd is going to be removing material (some scenes, some dialogue, most of the score). Maybe they can also dig up a few deleted scenes which will expand on the characters in a non dumbed down manner, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I liked too. It very much underlined the atmosphere.

[Show spoiler]The the briefing from Mr Wyland reminded me of Alien or Aliens?! The score gets really good then David discovers the alien bridge. Goosebumps

I find many of the complaints about this film to be legit, but highly overblown. To each his own though. There are some people who absolutely love the Star Wars prequels, but I find them to be a disaster on many, many levels.

Raises hand. I'm in that group. I'm an apologist for those films now, in a huge way. I still got a kick and a half out of Prometheus though. Like the the SWP's, as I'll refer to them from here on out, Prometheus was chock full of imagery that demands to be seen on the big silver screen. Did I just rhyme? OH NO, I'M SPEAKING IN RHYMES!

That's easy. I go in with the full knowledge that what I am about to see will, when all is said and done, bear little to no resemblance to the reality we live in. I just go along for the crazy rides and enjoy them for what they are. Don't ever see Lockout if scientific inaccuracies will give you an aneurysm. I have a friend who just loves to tear these things apart and it gets on my nerves when I've paid $11 to enjoy a show. That's all I want out of the movies. But reality is based on perception. Whatever we can convince ourselves is real is real. I think the issue has now become why is it so difficult for certain people to not have the ability to accept that others will not like the things they do. If you strongly like things or think they are good why is does someone else not liking it bother you so much?

I have no problem with people not liking what I do. I loved Battleship and gave it a perfect score on here for crying out loud. That post is gone now after the site revamp, but I don't mind others disagreeing with me. It's when they try to make me feel stupid for liking what I like that gets me. And yes, there are those on here. I let everyone have their opinion without mocking them, or I certainly try very much to. Just don't mock mine. You didn't like Prometheus. I have no problem with that. I wasn't bothered by anything you said. I just get bothered when people say things like... I don't see how you can really enjoy this. Or... You have poor taste for liking this. I've been on the receiving end of things like that. You can like or not like whatever you like, but the real issue is the need for some to express their opinion by mocking others for daring to be different. That's what I want to avoid. When I responded to that guys post it was his perceived snobbishness that set me off. It wasn't that he didn't like the movie, it was how he seemed to be saying that those who do are stupid by implying that we can enjoy just ANY movie. I admit that I can enjoy a good deal of movies out there as long as they provide what they promise, and I like what it is that they are providing.
