Clearly, there will be a continuation of viral and social marketing until then. Two significant events: 9 Oct. will see the release of the BD and 11 Oct. (10 11 12) is the first day of Comic Con New York.

It really does. Out of the four films I was most impressed with Alien. 3 and 4 seemed dingy and not handled well while Alien sparkled.

But there's the issue of the crush. The Alien blu image gets an A- from me.

Aliens on the other hand went from a C in image quality (from previous formats) to an A for blu. I might have given it an A+ if it weren't for the fact that they walk a very fine line with the digital manipulation at times.

Agree also, but my nitpick with ALIENS is the TEAL dump in the second half of the film now. But...since the image is soooo much better in this incarnation, I can easily overlook that.

Alien 3 and Resurrection weren't handled at all. They used old, existing HD masters for those. Only Alien and Aliens got full blown restorations.

I wonder what they have planned for 10/11/12. The DVD/Blu-ray is being released on 10/9 and 10/11 is the start of the NYCC. If I had to guess I'd say that either:

1. They'll announce the release of the extended cut of Prometheus in theaters in time for Halloween.

2. They'll announce the development/release of Paradise.

3. They'll announce the release of a plush Cuddles.

Wishful thinking on my part, of course.

Yep, the researcher's shadow is heading off in the wrong direction, and he looks too small compared to the trailer in the background. Dropped in and shrunk.

I think 10/11 is going to be the announcement of Paradise (crossing fingers). I have a feeling some of the preliminary work for it was going on at the same time as Prometheus. I don't think it's in the the cards for P to have and extended cut hitting theaters though. I think we'll get that with the blu(s).
