AvP Requiem better than the Special Edition of Alien 3? I agree, what the frag is that all about? I watched the Alien 3 SE recently on BD and though it is a dark and gloomy film, it's a damn sight better than the hack work that the Strause brothers came up with.

Indeed. The AVP films should not even be considered a part of the Alien franchise. I personally hate it when people say "This is canon and this isn't" but I have to admit, the AVP films aren't canon whatsoever. They're just sh*t.

Great news indeed, freed from the "shackles" that tied Prometheus to Alien (which was not in and of itself a bad thing, mind you), I cannot wait to see the imagery that Mr Scott (hopefully) will bring to us

Hard to disagree on that front. I won't be making that mistake again - teaser trailers only for me from now on (the teaser for Prometheus was perfect).

I liked some of the references to Alien, but I am glad it will be moving away from that. Also, the sequel already has two things going for it - Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender, who gave the best performances by far in Prometheus. Not to mention Ridley's astounding visuals.

Haha, no. I only watched the teaser materials (the Weyland TED Keynote, Shaw's application, David's 'commercial', etc), thankfully. I heard the numerous trailers really didn't hold back.

Hopefully there will be a wealth of marketing materials like that for Paradise.

It was just a questionable placement for such a lousy movie. Nothing personal.
