Given that his specialty is in writing mythology/mystery, I hope he is. They just need to fine tune the characters in the new one.

Or at least have him collaborate on the story if they decide bring in someone new to write the screenplay.

So no extended cut then, I guess. Just deleted scenes. With so much cut material, it just seems like such a lost opportunity.

So disappointed in this film like. Little Alien references and such i enjoyed but overall was just bad. The writing was meh! Was all over the place really and the story was just....weird! Way too religious for me. All i wanted, what i expected was spaceships, aliens, violence! the (very few) action scenes were good then there were points that just didnt make sense at all! Ill rent it once its out and see what i think the second time around. I guess i just expected it to be more like Alien.

You should limit yourself to AVP and its sequels. You would save yourself of future dissapointments

You said You were expecting explosions, aliens and action. Thats what the AVP movies deliver.

This and Alien deliver a more complex experience than that, albeit with a creepled script (which I agree with you), which you clearly didnt understand or didnt care.

i like Alien. I just thought this would offer the same experience. It was, as i said before, way too religious and quite complex. Im all for mind bending movies, but this was just a bit weird. Im not really big on Ridley Scotts work apart from Alien. Like i say, ill give it another go and see what its like a second time

You really should. I liked it more on the second viewing. Just dont see it as a direct prequel to Alien. You'll like it more

I had free tickets so I saw it 3 times in the theater and liked it more and more.

It does feel as if it's been shortened by 20 minutes or so. Hopefully there will be a Directors Cut or something.

Look at it this way: Prometheus brings a story that's incomplete...not all questions were answered and Paradise is set to answer more questions in where Prometheus set forth...maybe another viewing will have you realize that this is yet but another piece of the entire story of how the Alien came to be in the end....
