Prometheus opened to $9.5 million in Japan, bringing the worldwide total to $341 million. Just China (9/2) and Italy (9/14) left to go.

Just found this. Originally in the scene of Fifield attacking the crew Fifield was rendered wih CGI and looked entirely different. Scott contemplated going this route if the practical makeup didnt work. The cgi Fifield looks far less zombie and more mutated alien. Anyways you can read about it at the link: http://www.slashfilm.com/three-cgi-i...-action-scene/

Here are the pictures.

Looking for the Prometheus novel? You're in business if you read Japanese. Partial translation by Viscal.

must say the greatest cinematic opening i have seen in a film with some breath-taking of a musicality score to go behind it!! was the opening for Prometheus none the less an awesome film i remember being hyped early last year for this movie.. and counting down the day's.. def one of the greatest theater experiences i have had! especially being 21, and in my lifetime able to say 20-30 years down the road.. sure i saw a Ridley Scott! James Cameron recently spoke about Prometheus:

Quote:
As someone who was connected to the "Alien" legacy, what did you think about "Prometheus"?

I enjoyed "Prometheus"; I thought it was great. I thought it was Ridley returning to science fiction with gusto, with great tactical performance, beautiful photography, great native 3D. There might have been a few things that I would have done differently, but that’s not the point, you could say that about any movie.

Did it make you feel like you wanted to revisit the world of "Alien" at all?

No. No, I feel that I’m too far away from it right now, too much other work has been done -- too thickly layered, a palimpsest of other talents from Fincher to everybody that’s come along since.

Also, according to someone over at the boxoffice.com forums, it appears that Prometheus has made about $9 million in China so far and is projected to make $30 million overall...bringing the worldwide total to about $380 million.
