Where are you finding the 10 minute preview on the PS store? I can't see it with the other previews.

I didn't see a 10 minute preview of it, but you can buy it on the PS Store!

I don't think it's a full 10 minutes. It's the trailer. You can watch it when you go to the video section and click on the Prometheus square. There's a button that says "Preview". You don't download anything, it just starts playing.

Only after the movie was cut and first shown to the studio did we realize that it would really help if there was an introductory scene to Noomi’s [Rapace] character. We had that, but they shot it at the end. It was always a question of where to put that introduction. How do we discover that character first? Do we discover it through David as she’s asleep in a chamber and then flash back? Or do we see it before? So there was a lot of moving around of pieces."

Ahhh man!

Editing was a problem for me. And that was one scene that I felt could have been left out. After the Engineer's beginning, a cut right to the ship hauling ass through space would have been much much better. Earth is never shown in this universe, and it adds a slight cool mystery about it. That scene adds nothing that could not have been shot later on in the film.

I still have not completely made up my mind about this movie, but once I pick it up and view it a few times we will see.

.

New still from alternate opening (Fox Facebook)
http://www.facebook.com/Prometheus#!...type=1&theater

I believe this will be one of the alternate scenes on the 2D disc. It is 2.31 min. long according to the BBFC rating list.

This opening sequence, with the presence of many Engineers, was cut from the film to further enhance the mystery of our creators. Throughout the film, the filmmakers wished to enable both the Prometheus crew and the audience to experience parallel levels of mystery.

Ahhh I hope one of my 2 previous guesses was right, which would further make my assumption about people trying to dig toooo deep into a paper-thin story, ring all the more true. Regardless, you can't polish a fresh turd peoplez.

I'll give the extended version a shot when it hits NetFlix, but that's it. I pity all who blind buy it.

Does anybody remember how the 3D was in this? THe trailer makes it look like it's lacking in parallax. But that was the case with Resident Evil Afterlife's trailer as well and the movie is demo-worthy.

Can somebody compare Prometheus's 3D to Afterlife's? (Parallax,Foreground objects,Depth,Pop-out, Window Violation,etc)

I've seen Alien no less than 30 times, Aliens no less than 40 times and Alien 3 no less than 20 times. When Resurrection came out, everyone who knows me, knew that I'd be seeing this movie opening night, and they all assumed, no matter how bad the movie really was, I'd find a way to like it.

They were wrong! The movie was terrible!

Prometheus comes along and everyone who knows me, knew I"d be at this movie opening night, because even though they tried to hide the fact that it's a prequel, it didn't work. This was from the same universe so "I'd like it no matter what!" Again, they were wrong.

You can ask questions with no answers, you can leave this ambiguous, and fill it with smoke and mirrors all you want. A weak movie is just that. Weak!

I will watch an extended version if there is one, but this movie can't be saved for me. It wasn't frightening, nor suspenseful, and even as plain sci-fi, it wasn't intelligent.

What it was, was a good enough start to hopefully make another movie or 2 that become what Scott said this movie would do.

I still remember his quote from the interview where he said "I want this movie to scare the shit out of you!" What the hell happened to that idea?

These statements echo my sentiments toward the film. Love the Alien Trilogy so much. Resurrection has a pretty decent first two acts before having one of the worst 3rd acts I can imagine. Prometheus was overall just a massively underwhelming film. The deleted scenes look better than anything in the movie though so really looking forward to those

I find it quite telling that the Blu-ray is being promoted with the promise that "questions will be answered".

This should be the final nail in the coffin for those who claim that its numerous illogicalities were deliberately enigmatic. Sounds like damage limitation to me; and supports my strong instinct that no sequel will be made.

No doubt some will claim that the film-makers have been forced to this by the general ignorance of the public. But whichever way you look at it, this is a climbdown. If the mess of Prometheus was deliberate, this is plain cowardice. If it was just a mess, this is an embarrassing admission.

I'm probably very close to you on viewings of the first two films. Very well put!

Here's Scott talking about shooting on RED:

http://vimeo.com/49864550

There's a short part @ 2:28 where he's talking about home theater vs. cinema & says: "We've got to do better stories" etc. to keep people going back to the theater. I chuckled.
