Do you like the fonts though? I would need to do the poster again, I like this one also. My concept is to make the logo "mysterious"

They do not.. but "Prometheus" will be mostly all CGI, they built those sets cause CGI was not available, but I like REAL built set more, that's why "Alien" doesnt look dated. They added too much detail. I am sure Ridley will do the same in Prometheus though. He likes that 'art' stuff.

I'm actually more excited now that I've gotten over the initial shock. A brand new sci/fi horror film with new lore and mild influences from the Alien universe could be awesome. Even if it doesn't equal or surpass Alien, I have a feeling it's gonna be great all the same.

Briefly: It’s the release date shuffle. First Fox announced that Ridley Scott‘s ‘no longer an Alien prequel’ film Prometheus would release on March 9, 2012. Then just a week ago Disney moved Tim Burton’s feature-length Frankenweenie re-do from March 9 to October, and pulled the release date of John Carter of Mars back from June to March 9. The end result: Frankenweenie got a (hopefully) deserved October berth, and John Carter and Prometheus would be squaring off in March.

Now Fox has made the next move: Prometheus is now a summer picture, with a June 8, 2012 release date. Yep, that’s the date that John Carter of Mars vacated to compete with Prometheus in the first place. That’s all the new info we have on the film, though. Otherwise it’s still the basics: Ridley Scott directing an original sci-fi story from a script by Damon Lindelof (originally kicked into motion by Jon Spaiht‘s Alien prequel script) and starring Noomi Rapace. Charlize Theron is looking like a likely co-lead, though Angelina Jolie has been mentioned as well. There are male roles to cast, too, but no names yet.

i always wondered about the alien that is sitting in this part, he is dead but was he one of the aliens?? also what is he sitting in?? is a cannon of somesort or a telescope??? any thoughts??

He's the ship's pilot. That's probably a telescope of some kind.

PROMETHEUS Update: Michael Fassbender Signed And A New Release Date!





Perfect! Michael Fassbender (INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS) has got what so many search for: Screen presence. Ridley Scott has signed on Fassbender to star along side of Noomi Rapace (THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO) in his upcoming S3D sci-fi thriller PROMETHEUS.

Fassbender assumes the role of an android and has been circling since last year according to THR. As reported earlier, Charlize Theron and Angelina Jolie are also considering the remaining large female part left on the table.

In further related news, Fox has moved the project from a March 2012 release to later in the year, June 8.

Wow - I am completely thrilled with this casting announcement! Stay tuned for more when I get it...

So let me get this straight. This is no longer an ALIEN movie, but some kind of "SIDE-PROJECT" of the film itself? There will be no aliens like the aliens in ALIEN, right?
