I wonder who is doing the score for this film... the music score is such an important part of the alien world in these films, from Goldsmith's horror score, to Horner's action metallic score, to Goldenthal's somber score for Alien 3 and Frizzle's organic score, I wonder who will do this one.. I am one of the few that pays attention to scoring as well...

Yes, I am very, very interested in this as well. Goldsmith's A L I E N score is one of my all time favorites.

These are my favorite scores in order:
bishops countdown from aliens
they swim from resurrection
the closing for alien 3 when ripley falls into the fire
the scene in alien when ripley sees the alien blocking her path to the shuttle
the closing for resurrection "I'm a stranger here myself"
the clone score in resurrection

I think Alan silvestry or Christopher young would be good for Prometheus

The Six Month Shoot For Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ Has Started In Toronto
With the the casting for the lead roles sorted out earlier in the week and with a release date just over a year from now, THR reports that Ridley Scott has actually already started shooting “Prometheus” at Pinewood Studios Toronto—where it will lens for three weeks—and eagle eyed celeb watchers might want to keep an eye out around town for Noomi Rapace.

Speaking recently with MTV, the actress revealed the shoot will be a long one that will go right into the fall saying, “I’m jumping into that straight off of [’Sherlock Holmes 2’]. My character’s name is Elizabeth Shaw, and I’ll step into her shoes in March and be her for six months or something. It’s quite a long shoot. It’s unbelievable.”

Details on the plot are being kept securely under lock and key, but what little we do know is that Michael Fassbender will be playing an android, and Rapace opens up a little bit about her character in the film as well. “She’s a scientist and is very bright,” she said. “She’s a believer. I think there are some similarities, but she’s very much her own. I don’t think people will compare her so much to Ripley once they see the movie.”

Once the work in Toronto is done, lensing will likely continue at Pinewood London where most of the shoot is expected to take place. Joining Rapace and Fassbender in the film will be Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie and Timothy Spall. The film, which shares some connective tissue with the original “Alien,” will land right in the middle of summer next year on June 8, 2012.

Someone needs to go to toronto and sneak in the sound stages and report to us lol, I don't want to know about the story or story details but about the production. Can anyone imagine or think a more anticipated film of 2012 besides this one? Anyone?

I think this will release the same summer as the next Trek film, and I am looking forward to both!

Idris Elba: Prometheus is in some ways connected to Alien
Digital Spy managed to get an interview with British actor Idris Elba and asked him a few questions about Prometheus.

Elba, who has previously worked with Ridley Scott in American Gangster, admits he is a big fan of Scott and says "[Ridley Scott] is a majestic filmmaker. He's like royalty".

When asked whether or not Prometheus is in any way connected to the Alien series, Elba, who doesn't seem too sure about Alien's release year, can't say too much but admits:

"You can't ignore the fact that he created a mastermind in 1976 [sic]. A mastermind. And so Prometheus is in some ways connected to that. Yes, of course. Is it in storyline? I'm not at liberty to say, but I will tell you that if you can imagine a young Ridley Scott making a film like Alien in [the seventies] you can imagine what he can do now."
