I haven't read a single mention of this movie over the last two days that doesn't feature a conversation about her nudity. I'm going to be quite sad if it's all just a joke, lol.

Yeah, I don't know how much we'll see with the rating they are going for, but if there is an unrated version, then we might get the " Full Monty"

Well from the article Ridley said he's not shooting for a specific rating. The studio wants the PG-13 but he's going to make the movie the way he wants to. So like you said, if it is PG-13 i'd imagine we will get extended cuts of the movie, since there has been an extended or unrated version of every single Aliens film, including the AVP's so I cannot imagine they'd stop that tradition now.

That's the thing with the MPAA: A bit of violence, and gore is ok for kids to see, but God forbid there is a pair of tits on screen.

That is one thing I never understood. With ratings between theatrical release, and home video. You have the MPAA force directors to make cuts of the film, to get a PG-13. But, then we get the same film on home video, with a R or UR version. Makes 0 sense to me!

Or as Charlize calls it, "every acting job I've ever had"

They are useless clowns. I mean R ratings for scenes of intense terror? REALLY?!?! But you gotta love how one f-word is PG-13 but two is R, and so is 500 other uses of f*ck, lol.

You would think by now, the ratings system would have evolved better. I know it has on public t.v., to an extent. I rememer when ass or b*tch was a big no, no for television.

Damn, I guess the B word is too much for blu-ray.com. I had to edit and put in an asterisk.

I remember when they first introduced that tv rating system in the top of our screens, god was I pissed about that. My dad would be like "there's sex, you gotta leave the room" and then other times it would say "extreme violence and gore" and he'd be like "you can stay" the MPAA is obviously made up of parents.

Yep, I remember that as well. How about seeing a movie at the theatre with mom, and pop. There will be some violence on screen, and thats ok. But then a girl gets naked, and it's: "Johnny, cover your eyes". Or sometimes they do it for you.

That was always my dad too, I distinctly remember seeing Nowhere to Run with him when I was about 8 and all the death and violent scenes were fine but as soon as Rosanna Arquette got in the shower it was "cover your eyes or I'll tan your hide!" I like to think these are the types of people that make up the MPAA.

I love that shower scene!
Why do they call it "tan your hide"? When it should be more like: "Cover your eyes before I give your ass a sun burn"

I don't know, my dads a redneck. Belt buckles, male extension cord ends and two-by-fours leave all kinds of interesting colors.

MPAA don't force anyone to edit anything down to a PG-13, however, the film companies force them to edit down films so they can get a wider audience. MPAA don't force anything.

exactly. mpaa wont force an R rated movie to cut down to PG13 unless its the studios desire. if the studio wants PG13 its the mpaa's job to chip away at it until it passes. no matter what the studio wants for the theatrical release Scott always get his directors cut on home video anyway so im not worried.
