Seems to be the partial skull/suit/head of the Space Jockey where we could see in one of the pictures which they are investigating. The picture with the SJ corpse. So the head could be from that corpse..so they found out, investigated it, and took it back to lab..just my 2 cents

Yeah and I want to watch that movie along with Sherlock Holmes so bad. Sucks that where I am currently, both movie will only be releasing tomorrow..

Thing is they seem to have changed it. I always thought the Space Jockey's body was the real deal. Now they say it is a suit? Very weird.

Exactly...

When was it said that the SJ was in the chair naked?? I always assumed that was a suit, it even looks to be wearing a breathing apparatus. Of course the SJ isn't just a human don't you remember how much bigger it was than the crew of the Nostromo?

But the reason Im saying that

Look at the far right of the Prometheus image, there's a humanoid figure and speaking about the size of the SJ, isn't he is kinda big for humans? Humans, as we can see in the picture from Alien at above were dwarfed by the size of it. But this Voldemort-looking-dude is kinda big and could be the figure behind the suit..

That is why I'm speculating that the species behind the SJ suit are some sort of humanoid species..


Just my 2 cents and apologies for my bad English as it ain't my first language..

nobody ever said it wasnt a prequel to Alien, Scott himself has said more than once that last 8 minutes lead almsot directly into Alien. they just arent calling it an Alien movie because the xenomorph isnt in it.

Could be... So far there are pics of vehicles with the W logo..we could see it in the trailer as well..so yes, maybe Weyland have prominent influence over the crew and its mission

Well, it kind of makes sense in a way, if the 'company' knowingly sent people to their deaths in Aliens, to bring the xenomorph back that was discovered in Alien. Then the company may have had some inkling in Alien to send the crew down there from the events that happen in Prometheus. Or maybe not.
