I'm excited as can be for this but yeah, the teasers to the trailer went a little overboard with those comments.

I am dang excited to see this film. The trailer had just the right amount in it (hopefully). I am sold and will try hard to avoid anything else from the film. The scream 3/4 of the way through is chilling.

The only two things that could worry me is that it will PG13 and that it looks a little too polished. I like that beaten down look of Alien more.

Also even though the font for the title is the same you can still see that it is conputer generated.

Remember in 2008 when The Dark Knight was THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER

that is until 2010 when Avatar became THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER

(I guess The Dark Knight wasn't that amazing afterall). I been expecting either The Avenger or The Dark Knight Rises to be THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER

Yeah, really. Im still trying to wrap my head around TDK being praised that much. It was a solid Super hero flick, lets get that out of the way. But...it aint the best nothing ever, I got news for ya.

Hype sucks - it has ruined plenty of films for me in the past so Im not falling for it this time. Ill see this flick at some point and judge it accordingly.

Finally downloaded the 1080p version last night and watched it; It really is visually incredible looking. Going to transfer it to my PS3 tonight and watch it on my Kuro!

Also, Prometheus seems to meet the requirements of a prequel given that Aliens took place in 2179, Alien 57 years earlier in 2122 and Prometheus in 2085. It has a different storyline, but obviously it takes place in the same "Alien" universe.
