again, the reason theyve been hesitant to call it a prequel to Alien is because the general public doesnt frequent movie websites and read about this stuff as religiously as we do. if its advertised as an Alien prequel, tons of people will go to the movie expecting to see the xenomorph. their just covering their asses. its like if they made a movie about Chief Brody before he ever moved to Amity and battled the giant Shark, they wouldnt want to call it a Jaws movie because people would get the wrong idea even though it would technically be a prequel.

Very well put. That's how I've viewed it from the get-go.

That's what I thought.

Thank you for not answering my question.

i mean if people are trying to sue over Drive not being an action movie, can you imagine the backlash if they called Prometheus an Alien movie?

Remember in 2008 when The Dark Knight was THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER that is until 2010 when Avatar became THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER (I guess The Dark Knight wasn't that amazing afterall). I been expecting either The Avenger or The Dark Knight Rises to be THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER for 2012 but I might have been wrong
I didn't care less about Avatar or Dark Knight (those fanboyz bugged me the most) - but this movie is different.

This will

Ridley Scott doesn't want to associate this film with "the dreaded Prequel" stigma.

I guess they learned this from Halloweem III:Season of the Witch. No Michael Myers what so ever.

Currently scheduled for June 8, 2012. A period generally scheduled for Blockbuster status movies. Initially scheduled for March, 2012.

Yes, that didn't make much sense to me. You can clearly see it's a skeleton, it looks like it was part of an organism once. Granted, one could argue that to us it looks organic, even if it isn't, but compared to the rest of the ship, it clearly was a part of a living organism.

Something that could work, I guess, is if the Space Jockey's skeleton we all know was simply some kind of discarded exoskeleton after a moulding process, like what spiders do. For all we know, this race was no stranger to that biological process: we've seen the xenomorph's body has an exoskeleton and it also goes through the moulding process, and while the xenomorphs never abandon their original skeletons, maybe the Space Jockeys do? It's just an idea.

What do you think?

The preview shows at least one Prometheus crewmember's skin changing and him losing his hair, jumping from great heights, etc. Looks like he ends up as the bald, thick-necked guy standing to the right of the Jockey chair. And once he gets into the chair, looks like he and the ship grow together. [Or, a giant face-hugger attaches to his chest, and dies there after implanting an egg into him). In the shot of the projected map around the Jockey area, you can see pink brains in the floor panels, so the implication is the ship is partly biological - probably toughened up with Alien DNA. Notice that the skin-tight outfit the thick-necked guy is wearing also appears to be a suit made from Alien DNA.

Who watches cam and telesyncs anyway, it completely ruins a movie for me watching it in that horrible picture quality and with bad sound.
