New trailer rated by BBFC (59 sec). Question is when and where will it show up? http://www.bbfc.co.uk/BTxxx286710/

I hope this means that there will be one for the 'Super Duper Bowl'.

Not if it's rated by the BBFC

My thoughts, Chronicle has a likely chance to be showing it since it's out this weekend, I can't think of a Fox film that holds as much relevancy

A bit weak, I'm guessing/hoping more will be added.

(The Hunger Games is also confirmed that the new trailer is during the Superbowl)

“There’s nothing like the Super Bowl,” Adgate said. “There’s nothing that you can remotely compare it to. Advertising on that kind of platform builds awareness for a film, it placates those Hollywood egos, and it can make a movie bigger in the eyes of consumers. It makes it seem like even more of a blue chip movie.”

Despite the appeal, Warner Bros. and Fox are sitting out the event and passing up the opportunity to promote heavily anticipated films such as (sic) Wraith of the Titans and Prometheus.
Although Sony won’t air any advertisements during the actual game, it will run commercials for 21 Jump Street and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance during the pre-game show.

Lionsgate will also have a pre-game presence, airing a trailer for its tween franchise hopeful The Hunger Games before kick-off.

So, is there going to be a sequel to the non prequel? A quote found here indicates Scott is thinking about it: http://www.contactmusic.com/news/rid...sequel_1292511

Okay, so originally Prometheus was going to be a 2 film narrative, then it was truncated into 1 film, and now they are going to talk about a sequel? A film that would need to dovetail directly into Scott's own original Alien film?

Sounds cool. Best of luck to Mr Scott, he isn't getting any younger. Even Richard Donner appeared to have retired by age 80.

I'm not sure that it would need to dovetail directly into Alien. If the Prometheus trailer is actually showing the crash of the Space Jockey ship on LV 426; i.e. the same ship that we see in Alien thousands or millions of years later, then he has a significant amount of time for multiple scenarios to play out before the beginning of Alien.

That is a major plot point that i had never heard before. With Scott mentioning that Prometheus takes place 35 years before Alien i assumed that the film followed that timeline without any doubling back with time travel or such. Basically Prometheus would politely ignore or brush over the Space Jockey being fossilised. That is freakin' epic if we are getting a Race Against Time to stop humanity being created millenia ago.

Idris Elba talks about recently viewed Prometheus footage, but reveals little:

I hope the release prompts reprints of Blade Runner 5-disc to tie in with Ridley Scott's popularity!

I doubt anyone can answer this (watching Alien now), but if the space jockey had an alien come out of him, why wasn't that alien on the ship that crashed? Also it would have had to have been a queen to lay the eggs.

I agree silly if this doesn't tie to aliens. Last thing we need is a spin off or new alien series

From what I recall, Scott regards Aliens as canon, so I doubt he'd put in anything that would contradict it. As for the Space Jockey, yes, the most common theory I've seen is that its the queen that busts out of him. We shall see, I guess.

Who says that it wasn't???

They were only in there for about 10 min, plus only explored about 5% of the ancient derelict.

Why would the alien in its chest need to have been a queen? It always seemed to me that the Space Jockey was transporting the eggs. Since the timeline isn't clear, the resulting alien could have died eons before the events of Alien.

Most theorize that since the hole is so huge, a rather large specimen would've had to come out of it. Now obviously some would justify this with the fact that the chest-burster takes on characteristics of its host, including size, but I think fans just want a fun way to sync all the parts in the films together. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if they went that direction.
