But what the heck gives here?

Check out 02:30 in the UK trailer and 02:09 in the US one.

Well Foggy, enjoy your R-rated version while we here in the US get the cleaned up PG-13 one.

.
It is standard practice that untill a movie gets its offical rating the trailers are made for all audiences so it can be shown in front almost any movie in a theater. after it is rated say "R" it can only be shown in front of another R rated movie as the trailer will now be R rated. so dont give up unitl we see the official rating.

Btw, who really thinks that Scott would be so desperate to make an impact with the cinema audiences with the first trailer that he actually shows us the end of the film with the Space Jockey ship from Alien crashing? Seriously, if he has done that it's just plain stupid! And also rather confusing!

I'm also hacked off at the idea that there is a possibility that Aliens will be 'Out of canon' as it were. The idea that Weyland Corp would build a colony on a world that they had failed to spot was home to the Elder Gods pyramid and remains of an ancient space ship just doesn't jive. Not buying it. If it is the truth, someone needs a slap.
Yeah as cool as the Trailer 2 is, I'm really hoping it didn't just show way too much. Part of me really regrets watching it, the other part is all that more excited to watch the movie.

From studying the trailer and wonder-con footage in slo-mo, I think it's pretty safe to say that

[Show spoiler]an alien organism is taken out of Shaws womb/stomach by the automated medical station. That lead you to speculate if it was transmitted to her from having sex with Holloway (they are a couple) after he got infected by something - he's the person with something alien inside his eye.

That could sort of explain why Ridley at the Q&A recently, spoke about a certain scene in this film that was pretty horrific and somewhat 'embarrasing' for him to think about.

Just my 2 cents.

Everybody be cool; you be cool! Everyone is freaking out and not even seen the movie yet. I think Scott should do a remake of Alien so the technology looks as cool as it does in Prometheus. Only problem with prequels is with science fiction movies. The newer prequel looks way cooler. I'd have no problem if Scott remade Alien.

Funny you should say that.

I was showing somebody today the trailer, and they were very confused that it was a prequel and not a sequel to ALIEN because of all the cool looking tech in it.

He stated that the crew of the Nostromo and Sulaco sure could have used those red laser recon balls so it would have kept them from getting wiped out!

[Show spoiler]

And he has a certain point, as you would think that by the time of ALIEN and ALIENS, that those remote red probes would be as common as roadside flares are today.

The tech in 'Alien' looks old because it was made in 1979! I've never got the whole re-ordering of films after the prequel ideology. No one will ever convince me that Revenge of the Sith comes before Star Wars, and I certainly am not getting hung up on the Ian Holm Bilbo in the FotR prologue in light of Martin Freeman's casting in The Hobbit.

The bliss we're all feeling right now about this movie has alot to do with all the years we've spent obsessed with Alien. I'm not going to start pretending that Prometheus came first.

You also have to remember the Nostromo was only a cargo ship, so you wouldn't expect them to be stocking all sorts of fancy technology on board.

I think the Derelict crashing might not be at the end of the movie and when Noomi says that they were wrong, she might be saying that they were wrong in thinking the space jockies were bad.

If this film is linked to Alien (last ten minutes) then why did the nostromo crew get a warning ?? I think the space jockey is alive in proetheus and if you see it in Alien its Dead .
