Does that mean that this is not an official sequel to Alien, but rather takes place in the same "universe" as Alien?
Well, Prometheus is a prequel even though it will have it's own story while keeping some hints and connections to the Alien universe. Plus, Scott did say there won't be any xenomorphs in this movie, yet Weyland Industries and the Space Jockey managed to make an obvious appearance.

So, does the film take place only on
[Show spoiler] LV 223 or do they travel to LV 426 for the scene where the alien ship is rammed out of the sky to crash and roll and be found by the Nostromo many years later? Or, do we have alien ships crashing all over the Zeta Reticuli star system? If so, the Engineers/gods aren't very good engineers. Maybe we should let the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration lend them a hand.

The recently posted articles seem to indicate that LV 223 is a planet rather than a planetoid or moon of the clearly visible Ringed Gas Giant seen in Prometheus and Alien. Very curious. And which is it, 226 or 223?' Note the name of the destination planet: it’s LV -226, possibly 223. Not LV-426, as featured in Alien and Aliens.' If it was difficult to tell if it was a six or three, are you sure it wasn't a four instead of a two?? Was it text on the screen or was there dialogue stating the planet ID?

Personally, this is exactly what I had hoped for the moment Scott was rumored to return. I wanted something fresh.

It all starts on Earth mk II, then they pick up an annoying little kid and fly to Coruscant where they meet up with a rogue starship pilot that no longer shoots first. It ends on Flosten Paradise after the hotel crashes back into the ocean and Rose tells Jack that she'll "never let go."

I for one am imensely relived that the planet is not the same one from Alien, as it means that we haven't seen the end of the film in the very first trailer. Only thing left is for me to hope that the film get's an R rating, as if it is PG13 i'm simply not going to see it. Same as AvP and Die Hard 4.0

Oh, and it's awesome to see the Prometheus spaceship itself actually looking like a real object rather than CG model. It looks awesome! Modelwork is so underused these days. Probably why i'm such a big fan of Event Horizon.

The one with the eye is quite gross. I wonder if they will be able to have that in a PG13 film?

I don't think that that is much of a spoiler since it is revealed near the beginning of the film.

Thanks.
[Show spoiler]The one with the ship rising is interesting in that the ground shows an inhabit/technological surface.

The Space Jockey in this http://www.heyuguys.co.uk/images/201...ometheus-2.jpg

[Show spoiler]ceiling is weird. And it looks like he is next to some other type of creature. Not sure what is going on .

Fully agree. Love when actual models are used, it makes it feels real. Love the model work in Event Horizon and Independence Day.

I am not convinced.

[Show spoiler]"the Android David whose descendants include Ash, Bishop and Call, wakes the crew as they approach a distant planet whose moon, it is assumed, is capable of sustaining life, and where they hope to discover the origin of the figures glimpsed in the cave paintings on Earth.

Once awake there is an appearance from someone who will be familiar to those keeping up with the marketing for Prometheus, albeit in a very different form to how he looked when we last saw him wow the crowds at the TED talk in 2039.

The task explained, the crew hostile towards the scientific crew mates, the footage ended as the ship set down on the moon."

So some describe the Prometheus landing site as a planet and others describe it as a moon. Which is it? If a moon, we are back to the ringed gas giant with the three moons as seen in Alien and Prometheus which norrows the location to one of the two planetoids/moons orbiting the ringed gas giant with Acheron, LV 426. So, the trailer could conceivably show the ramming and crash of the alien ship on LV 426. Anyone buy that??

The other unanswered question is why are the crew hostile toward the scientists?
