Prometheus Review Thread (Spoilers)

There were some questions earlier about the relationship and timeline of the alien ship (Juggernaut) on LV 223 and the derelict alien ship on LV 426.

This is What Ridley has to say about it:

[Show spoiler]"And then you say ‘But how did that ship evolve in the first Alien?’ Then I would say ‘Actually he’s one of the group that had gone off and his cargo had gotten out of control,’ because he was heading somewhere else and it got out of control and actually he had died in the process and that would be the story there. That ship happened to be a brother to the ship that you see that comes out of the ground at the end. (of Prometheus) They are roughly of the same period give or take a couple hundred years, right? Other than that, there’s no real link except it explains I think who may have had these capabilities, which are dreadful weapons way beyond anything we could possibly conceive, bacteriological drums of (beep) that you can drop on a planet...."

[Show spoiler] One could argue since they are looking at the terrain, they are running in the direction they think it won't roll even though it appears to be rolling towards them. IE, they think if I run this way it will have to turn that way or stop rolling before it gets to me.

Turning one way doesn't mean the thing might not suddenly turn with you.

Not saying it's right, but it's possible. Obviously, you can say they didn't quite judge it properly, plus you know sometimes people just don't think when they're panicing.

Anyone know what this is? I don't remember seeing it in the film. It appears to be

Correct. After it lands and she

[Show spoiler]manages to avoid crushing by the rolling Juggernaut. Vickers escapes in an individual escape pod after Janek sends the Luxury Pod to the surface where it has a hard landing. I still have a nagging feeling that Vickers manages to escape death as well. They went to too much trouble to get her to the surface. Janek made a point to tell her that there were supplies in the luxury pod that could sustain her for two years. If they wanted to kill her off, they could have just let that happen on the Prometheus. They also made a point of showing that long range communications was available in the pod. The video message designed to reach the Engineers was still running when Shaw got to the pod.

There are a lot of possibilities for a sequel.

Just saw the movie, gorgeous to look at and Fassbender was excellent , aside from that a really dumb movie. Gave it 3 stars.

lol I was laughing my ass off at how quiet it was when everyone was leaving too. I loved that piano piece though that was playing, it felt psychotically appropriate for a scott movie.

This movie is crap. the fans falling allover themselves to praise it is exactly like Avatar. At least Avatar had blue bewbs in it.

Do you guys go to theaters where people clap and cheer? People were quiet walking out of Prometheus in my theater, sure, but that was no different than Avengers or Hunger Games. The only time the silence seemed telling to me was during Million Dollar Baby, during the scene when Clint assists in her suicide. No one ate, no one drank, no one whispered, they simply stared at the screen in stoic, but rapt silence. It was kind of beautiful, but also extremely eerie.
